My last filipina was old and really not worth talking about. So fter my last was sent back, I was so impressed with my current n shes been here like near 3 weeks, performance is good for hse work but does things her way and cant speak english well… but quite clean and neat, now slackening abit but thats ok with me. Just want to see how long she will last cos she seems homesick.

        any reviews on nation agency?

do u all give ur maids a hp? top up card u pay or they pay? do u tink its necessary to do up a handbook for her to teach her on the appliances i hv at hm? first time employing maid in=)

dont spoil her. Nearly all the filipinas come in with h/p so they know what to do, if no hp , dont encourage her to get one. My past and present know how to wait till pay day to top up. Ai yah, house rules are set by u not them.. u may regret offering her top up , there will be no end.
Appliances? u ask her whether she knows, u can show her instead. What nation are u taking frm?

Agree. No need to give them HP. If they want, they pay topup card themselves. Better teach them how to use appliances yourself. Give manual later she don't understand how? House rules you set. But My case, my maid now 4.5 yrs. she never follow the strict rules anymore, but so long already so I also chin chye. Start strict then later chin chye easier. The other way round will have more prob later. Gd luck!

Nation is the first agency to lead maid's salary hike!

I believe Nation is also one of the companies which got fined for price fixing with I think 3 other companies (forgot who they are).

any recommendations for agency in yishun area? theres one at 925 the branch employment i tink, hows it?

Hi, I only use Nation - Yishun branch (I think they just shifted to block 925 under the escalator?). Well established maid agency but can be more expensive.

my previous maids and those for my parents/sister all from nation.

we use the simei and bukit timah branch (but unsure if the bukit timah branch is still there or moved). all completed contract and most stayed for more than 3 years.

i wanted to get a maid from them again recently but was a bit disappointed by those i saw on the website. i dont know if thats all they have (which i am sure they have more) but the reply was what i see on web is what they have.

so i didnt get any from them.

Also agree, start to be strict frm the start. I m normally nice to them when they start but am only strict when they get out of hand. I took this transfered maid and like i mentioned earlier she was rather good with her work when she started, hardworking clean and neat, rather fast too. Shes 37 yrs old and fresh frm th province when she came and had 4 yrs experience as a maid in phillippines. Shes not been a month n sneeks out of the hse to meet another maid when my mum takes her bath. Shes suppose to help my mum out of the bathroom, what a dissappointing maid, shes older so kind of stubborn too and does not like ironing so does it at her own time. She look the serious kind but I hv my doubts and the trust is not there if i leave her alone at home.

From what I know, Insurance is neither refundable nor transferable. If you are transferring your maid, you need to get a fresh insurance done for her. This was what I was told when I sent my maid off.
