WELLINGTON , New Zealand - Experts have concluded that a New Zealand woman's eight to 10 litre a day Coca-Cola habit likely caused her to suddenly collapse and die, the Associated Press reported.

Natasha Harris, 30, was a stay-at-home mother of eight who was helping her children get ready for school when she collapsed slumped against a wall.....

........Medical reports state that she died of a heart attack. However, expert witnesses at an inquest testified that her 2-gallon-a-day Coca-Cola habit, combined with poor nutrition, likely lead to hypokalemia.

Hypokalemia, also known as low potassium levels, can include abnormal heart rhythms.

Pathologist Dr Dan Mornin added that the high levels of caffeine in the Coke that built up to toxic levels in her body may have contributed to her death.

Hodgkinson testified that Harris would drink between 2.1 to 2.6 gallons of regular Coke every day.

She would drink a Coke when she woke up and would drink another just before she went to sleep...........

It is true that drinking too much coke can "erode" your intestines

I personally knew of someone who had to undergo surgery and doctors found her intestine to be very badly eroded due to drinking "soft drinks" (She only drinks soft drinks she hates plain water)

So try not to let our kids get into the habit of drinking "sugared" water

From the report, it says that she drinks 8-10 litre a day Coca-Cola .. that's excessive  :yikes:

Excessive consumption of any food or drinks is definitely not advisable.

My friend drinks a liter a day of the same kind of drink for quite some years and now he lost his joint membrane between his knees joint. So whenever he walks, he suffers a lot of pain.

Somehow the simple rule of moderation seems to be lost on many people…

10 litres everyday of ANYTHING of any drink (other than water) cannot be good.

Even 10L of water seems excessive...

heard from one of my friend coke is so toxic that it can be use as toilet cleaner.

you can google for it for more information about it. that’s why i don’t allow my kids to touch this at all.

maybe her addiction to coke is a kind of 'de-stressing' for her, she is a SAHM with 8 kids and poor nutrition could also mean either she's too stressed to eat well or financial status of the family....Felt sad for the kids too, now without mother to take care of them.
