\"Help digestion\" --> This means that as long as it plays a part in digestion, it helps in digestion.

Teeth: Mechanical breakdown of food into smaller pieces for digestion
Tongue: Mashes food, mixes food with saliva and rolls food into bolus before being swallowed
Saliva: Enzymes (amylase) in saliva starts to breakdown starch in food
My answer: (4) A, B and C -
Mychildren:
Hi Mychildren,teh_oh,
In fact, I should thank you. If not, I'll not realize the difference between the seed leaf and first leaf. I may result teaching wrongly my son. He was telling me why I marked him wrong and I was at a lost too. Their textbook was not enough to provide enough information. Even guide book never state the difference too.
:thankyou:
Please double confirm with your child (sometimes they are the best person to ask too :)) that we are correct (that the seed leaf is the 'fleshy portion' and not the 'leafy portion') as we are still learning too. -

I am sure about teeth and saliva.but i had doubt about tongue. -

what r the parts that help in the process ? (of digestion)
Since the tongue does help in the \"process\" it should be one of the answers.
However, if the question is \"What r the parts that help in digestion?\", then I think \"tongue\" might not be included.
Actually I will pick (2) i.e. a & b because I don't think \"saliva\" can be considered as a \"part\" of the mouth or digestive system. -

[/quote]Ok, Digestion means the process of digest, teeth is surely correct as it helps to break the food into smaller pieces so as to help to digest it easily.Hi atutor2001!

I don't get it why tongue not, actually yes,if website below will tell why, the saliva of course helps to digest it first before reaching the stomach to carry on.

CNS:
Ya.. thanks. Anyone attempt Roysth SA1 for Science. Spotted a few wrong answers, this is one of them.. like that how to teach as i am not too good in Science too :siao: ?
Good Morning CNS and all here,
 Yeah, I have to agree that Rosyth's paper has a few mistakes and really very misleading :slapshead: :slapshead:CNS:
Above is Q25 of Rosyth's paper and my child's answer is (C) Glowing stick.Pls help :
Cheryl placed some objects in a black box and closed it with a lid. The light bulb inside the box is switched off. Which one of the of following object could she see from a tiny opening?
A). Mirror B) Marble
C). Glowing stick D). Unlit matchstick
Answer key is D. Thot should be C ? Pls advise. Thanks
Her explanation: The light bulb inside the box was switched off.
In this case, there is no light source inside the box, so the box inside is dark, thus anything place in the box cannot be seen through the hole. The only thing given in the 4 options that can give off its own light is (3) Glowing stick, as for the rest (1) Mirror, (2) Marble & (4) Unlit matchstick can only be seen if the reflect lights into our eyes. For (4) if the matchstick is lit, than we can see it as it gives off its own light, but the matchstick is unlit.teh_oh:
My child's answer is (2) because she said the question ask for life cycle and (2) is cycle only and not life cycle :? :? She was referring to the note on the PSLE Guide (Orange colour) by Marshall after I marked the paper. Our Q8 is 2 because my child said that option 4 is correct as all life cycle starts with fertilized egg. The answer sheet is definitely wrong. Can CNS share what is her option for this question?
Thank you.
Another mistake on the answer sheet is Q11 - child's answer is (1) - her explanation: Pupa do not feed at this stage, thus the amount of food left should be constant, i.e 20g
Hope get verification from parents here whether the above answers are correct; :thankyou:
