      Hi all!

I prefer assessment books as all the qns accumulated.so i use assessment books to understand the topic.then go to past papers.but this time i shocked.each assessment has different style of qns.when i see the pastpaper, very different.is that enough past paper only.cos i didn't't complete any assessment book.i just lost how to prepare for systems.

      Hi smartmummy,

Human Systems requires mostly memorisation of the functions of different systems.
From the few papers we attempted, common questions includes identification of parts of the systems, joint types and function of the systems especially digestive systems, the difference between big and small intestine.

For Plant Systems, the key revision area is the experiment on the absorption of coloured water up the plant, resulting in the turning the flower into a particular colour ie the function of xylem and phelom.

Our Q8 is 2 because my child said that option 4 is correct as all life cycle starts with fertilized egg. The answer sheet is definitely wrong. Can CNS share what is her option for this question? from teh_oh

If the egg is fertilized egg, I agreed that the answer is 2. Thanks for letting me know about this.

As for 23, my ans same as my son is 2 because the volume in the basketball is fixed when fully pumped with air. As air can be compress, even if you pump in more, the volume of air in the basketball will still remain unchanged.

          Hi Mychildren,
Thanks for your explanation on Q23. I am at lost at questions relating to such.

For the Egg-Kitten-Cat question, it is tricky as I am not sure if the day cycle considers as life cycle. May need to double check with his teacher.

            teh_oh,

In fact, I should thank you. If not, I'll not realize the difference between the seed leaf and first leaf. I may result teaching wrongly my son. He was telling me why I marked him wrong and I was at a lost too. Their textbook was not enough to provide enough information. Even guide book never state the difference too.

            :thankyou:

I think it would be all, (4). The question states helps in the process, and not 'where digestion takes place'.

\"Help digestion\" --> This means that as long as it plays a part in digestion, it helps in digestion.

Teeth: Mechanical breakdown of food into smaller pieces for digestion
Tongue: Mashes food, mixes food with saliva and rolls food into bolus before being swallowed
Saliva: Enzymes (amylase) in saliva starts to breakdown starch in food

                  My answer: (4) A, B and C

                    Hi Mychildren,

Please double confirm with your child (sometimes they are the best person to ask too :)) that we are correct (that the seed leaf is the 'fleshy portion' and not the 'leafy portion') as we are still learning too.
