Hi Ohdaddy,
The long weekend was great, gives DD more time to play n relax.
The HW load is better this term, not very day but the content is getting more difficult. My dd is also trying to cope with reading as she is not strong in decoding new long words on her own. I am trying hard to find time to read more books with her…hopefully she gets better by end of the year. I imagine p2 will be worse. -
Ohdaddy, I am convinced that the English they are doing now is not quite "normal" for primary one kids… hope you had a great weekend!
jnemummy, on the contrary, my dd’s class has been getting more HW this term. Her teacher started slow, but I can see her pressing on the accelerate button now. This past long weekend, we had 16 pages of Maths builder, and 24 problem sums on problemsums.com… Took dd almost 4 hours to finish. I am barely catching my breath… -
Wow… 24 problem sums is really alot, even when u break it up…

Wimdils, got an email from teacher to say problemsums.com will be a weekly occurrence...
Anyone attending this morning's maths workshop? -
Quite a session wasn't it, today's workshop...
mind boggling.. :nailbite: -
wimdils, ya, agree, scary... I could barely figure out the P6 problems :faint:

hi
i don't get the impression that it is very academic-driven like the other schools. the psle grades of the school is a rough estimate of how much focus on academic results there is, all things equal. my kid is in p1 and she is having fun at school.

Hi, my daughter is in P2. She has been transfer to MCS last January 2012 and also we have moved to SG last year. Singapore education standard is much more higher and my girl is trying hard. But I am worried with her class teacher. She always expect to get full marks in every subject or she gets angry! Even though my girl is enjoying school but get scared of the teacher if she could not do her task properly. So I am noticing she is losing her confidence. What should I do or is it possible to change her class? Thanks
