      Hi,

I do not think it is compulsory but highly recommended to take part.
For me, I have no creative ideas on the toy and leaving it entirely to my gal is not fair since she is so young in P1. I need to give her some ideas and work together with her. But till now, I am guilty of not doing that.
And now that she sees many people are all the hype on this toy competition, she wants to take part too. So I may be improvising the toy from some art and craft I did with her in the past.

I feel it's more on the sense of participation and process of thinking through what toy to make that is more fruitful for my gal. Since she wants to take part, I shall help her on that 🙂

We also do not intend to do, as my daughter and us do not have any ideas or interested in it. So far i have not heard from her on any pressure to do it.

                    Hi iLoveChubby,

yes, I have the PN. Says that the number statement is 2 marks and the answer itself is 1 mark. Although the example did show the model, the PN didn't say whether or not mark is awarded for the model itself.

Just clarified with my DS's form teacher - she said model drawing is \"encouraged\" but actually no marks will be given to that. But she said she doesnt tell the students that because she wants them to show the model drawing during the test.:)
