      LOLMum:
i was talking to a maid who said that there are many illegal indo maids in spore. some are at agencies looking for employment.

i asked this maid how can that be cos if they are offered a job, mom would definitely know of their illegal status and they would be sent home.

but was told that the agencies have their own way of sorting it out before submitting the documents to mom.

too bad i dont have any friends who works in maid agencies. dont know if this is true or not. 🤷

i guess maids who are at the maid agencies daily have an idea of what's happening. also sometimes they chat among themselves and secrets are revealed.
:? Maybe they get another passport under a different name. Leave SG (eg take a ferry to Batam, maybe a bus ride to Msia?). Then come back using the other passport?

        any reviews on nation agency?

do u all give ur maids a hp? top up card u pay or they pay? do u tink its necessary to do up a handbook for her to teach her on the appliances i hv at hm? first time employing maid in=)

dont spoil her. Nearly all the filipinas come in with h/p so they know what to do, if no hp , dont encourage her to get one. My past and present know how to wait till pay day to top up. Ai yah, house rules are set by u not them.. u may regret offering her top up , there will be no end.
Appliances? u ask her whether she knows, u can show her instead. What nation are u taking frm?

im GOT from yishun nation lehs. hmm just $200 deposit thou. monday gg for a 'conference interview' with the filipino. what to ask her ar? jus nw whn i was there a aunty came in to 'return' maid cos she duno hw to wash toilet for 2mth n has a hp. =\\

          Peace Charlie:
Hi 2 mths ago return my maid to agent told to have insurance refund..would like to check why when I got a trf maid, the insurance cost could be trf to the new maid n if I do not con't getting a maid from the agent tey told me no refund for insurance is there any time /date line that the insurance fee could be refunded...pls advice thanks.

Theres a refund for sure, i received mine twice frm 2 different agents. Not sure whether less then 3 or 6 months now but it was a fair refund for the duration i kept my maid. The refund will come in a cheque written to the employers name. On both occasions that I receive my refund, it was not frm NTUC. U can call the insurance agency and they will let u know whether ur cheque is ready and sent to the maid agency.

i wonder why she is here. is she here on holiday? she requested to go on third day after she was reprimanded for breaking my window lock and not telling us until we found out ourselves. we changed the whole window pane due to spoilt lock but we moved on with life. keep telling us wanting to go. she is alone at home from monday to friday and till late afternoon/evening. all kids and adults are busy at school / work. no animal, no elderly, no need to water plant, only do simple cooking and general housework (practically same dish everyday and we eat without complaining knowing her capability). only help out with children when they are back from school in the evening but we bath for him, feed him, put him to bed. most of the time only use eye-power on children. lack of initiative, lack of hygiene awareness despite countless reminders, hides unironned clothes, allow to use washing machine and dryers, pull long face and refuse to eat when food offered, slow in work. no one supervise her at home? or too free to wander her mind off? or taking things for granted? my goodness, when writing all these heightened our determination to send her off but need to wait for existing agency to confirm practicing new ruling. i need one to help me with housework. just to vent out here.

Great. We do not mind them calling home as their parents may be concerned. Your maid has experience or new? If new, wonder how she has got a list of friends already

It is OK to vent out your frustrations. First timer? You yourself provided some concerns that you may want to think about before your next maid.

no one supervise her at home?
or too free to wander her mind off?
                    or taking things for granted?

One or all of the above may be the problem.

                      1. Is it normal to place a $200 deposit? what happens to this deposit if you do not like what happens at the \"conference\" interview
                      2. Before thinking about the questions to ask, how do you know that the person whom you are going to talk with is the maid that you are going to hire??
                      3. Who is going to bear the costs of the \"conference\" call? From your $200 deposit?
