Bukit panj govt high have ip.?
Yes, Bukit Panjang Govt High has IP, according to the 2011 Sec Schools Selection booklet.
You can consider Catholic High, Dunman High, NJC, Bukit Panjang Govt High, River Valley High & Victoria School. These schools offer IP route & they are non independent schools. I also don't have so much money.mummy so kiasu:
A friend has 2 sons in SJI independent. She told me she doesn't have to pay anymore tuition fees...amount she pays for a year for one kid is equivalent to tuition fee. Life is more relaxed. School starts at 810am and ends like 3.
A neighbour's son who is in HCI independent sec 1 is also very relaxed according to grandmother...$20K a year.
I don't have this amt of money. My son will take the O level route. -

Hi janet,
there is only sji institution and sji
international there is no sji independent. -

The one at Malcolm rd is SJI. Got mixed up with international and Independent.Hi janet,

SJI is moving to bishan for 2 years...it's far from home and hours are longer in sec level, so I will drop the idea of SJI. No point spending too much time on the road. -
janet_lee88:
Janet, if it's just 2 years may be still can consider right? I mean if its your DS's dream school & if there is direct bus or MRT to go there. Don't cross it out so fast.

Hi all,
Would like to have your opinion on this: is it better to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond? This is not off topic but it is got to do with the choice of sec school that my dd would choose. She is in a primary school that has a reasonably good affiliated sec school which is also offering IP. Say she qualifies for RGS and NYGH with a t score of 264, should she stay put or move. If she stays, she will be in top class. If she moves to RGS or NYGH, she is just another digit there.
TIA. -

She will be in top class if she does.
My daughter is in a primary school with affiliated sec. I hope she does very well and go to the top class in her affiliated sec. You have my vote. -

Hi alng, if I'm not mistaken your dd's secondary school's IP is new and she'll be in the first batch of IP students? Given that the new JC is untested I say go for an established IP school. Having said that I can see the dilemma you might be in because if she's in the top class she will be given many opportunities. But who's to say she won't be given opportunities in RGS or NYGH if she proves herself? And in the medium term, would you prefer her to go to an established IP school or be in the pioneer batch of an untested JC?Hi all,

Firstly, envy yr dd for able to qualify for RGS/NYGH.
Next, if her feeder Sec sch is an IP Sch, it must be a very gd n renowned sch!
To get into its feeder Sec sch is a privilege.
I wd say go back to feeder Sec sch- familiar environment n most imply she will be in the top class. It will motivate n boast her morale even more.
Morale in a child is very impt.
Btw, yr dd's sch is in Upper Bukit Timah /Dunean Rd
or AMK, rite ? Just kaypo,if u don't mind.
Just my 2 cents worth. -

I agree with jtoh. If the T-score permits, I would rather go for an established IP school rather than be the pioneer batch in an untested IP program. I believe that iron sharpens iron, and I'm sure your dd will thrive equally well in RGS / NYGH.
