English Assessment Books

I think the book "Practise Your English" is an out-of print book and it is by Robert Gibson. I bought this book years back in the 2nd hand bookstore.

It is Practise Your English by Cyril Ernest Wood (Robert Gibson publishers). There are two editions the 2000 one and the 1956 one. I use the 1956 one as I got hold of the answer book for it.

As an aside, DS! finds P4 Complete Practice harder, but I also enjoy the Practise Your English book, as he does not always have teh MCQ format to follow.

Yes. This is the book. It is the 2000 edition with no answers. I also have the 1956 version, where I got the answers at the British Library, last month, and scanned them. I use it as it a useful supplement to the New First Aid in English (FA); this book is difficult and boring to use by itself. Practice Your English (PYE) is for those who have read the FA and want to practise more.

Incidentally, I use the Concise First Aid in English as it is easier for my 8 year and six year old sons to use.

Yes, that is the Concise First Aid In English - it is a stream-lined version oif the New First Aid in English. They are all from the same authors/publishers.

I personally feel Practice Your English is more suitable for P5/6 onwards. WOW! You have the answer key! You are right that the year 2000 edition does not have the answer key which I am struggling to cross-reference to. Is it possible to scan a soft copy of the answer key and share with me? :please: I will be greatly appreicate it.

As for the Concise First Aid in English, it is more suitable for lower primary up to P4.
