I love my job and bosses, but I hate my colleagues. What should I do?
If your boss also loves you, no action is required. And if your boss loves you, it is likely that your colleagues will hate you too. But since your boss loves you, there is nothing your colleagues can do to you except for probably bad-mouth you behind your back.
I was about to also complain that I hate my colleagues.
Then I read this post, which made me laugh and laugh. -
In my previous job, I had the best of all worlds - great boss, great colleagues, great staff benefit, good salary package, good job prospect. I really love going to work! The only thing is long hours. But since, everything else is good, there is nothing much to gripe about. That is, until my child came along…
To have time to fulfil my role as a mother, I left my old job and join an organization which observes sg office hours (previous job was with a US mnc. We report to USA and takes care of the aspac region and Europe). Life here has been described in my earlier posting. But I am try to hold my tongue - becos this current job allows me to spend more time with kiddo.
I could hv scaled the heights of the corporate hierarchy but so what? Being part of my child’s growing up is far more meaningful. When people praise my child for being well mannered, I know I have a direct contribution.
If I can choose, I rather be the mother of a successful person who credits me for what he is today then to be a successful person whose child cannot remember the face. -
My job is to provide my family with bread and butter....
Like or don't like still have to wake up early and go to work....
No job no $$$

when a person reach mid 40s , no ability to job hop...no Employers want to employ you....
Because there will younger ones on the standby to replace you.... -

do i like my job?? seriously i didn’t think of it… i think i will only like my job when 1st and most importantly my boss must like me… 2nd if my boss like me then mostly likely i will like my boss… 3rd pay package must be good… 4th good office environment…
after working for 20+yrs i realised that not everything (in fact most of the things) in work can be distinguished as right/wrong or black/white… a lot of time we are all working in the grey area… and how long a person can stay on a job is how long the person can work in that grey area… and how high a person can climb in the corporate ladder is how well the person can manage without making mistake in that grey area…
not sure am i making sense here or not… -
I feel it could be a priority and mindset issue in this case.
i used to like my job cos i could do what my strength allows me to. but its a stressful job which entails traveling and long hours. my priorities shifted somewhat along the way when i realize that my kids need me more, and so now am trying to get out of the job cos it is robbing me of my time and energy with my kids.
ask that question two years ago and now and the answers can be quite different. -

I have come to realise that there is no right or wrong in work, if a boss likes you, he can justify for himself any sort of blunders you made but if boss frowns at the sight of you, :wrongmove: he will pick on almost anything that is associated with you... :sad:

i dont like the 24/7 working hours. public holidays and birthday also got to work.
there are times i resist going away on trips because there is no ME time. i still got to work 24/7.
yeah, most of all, i dislike the cooking. always got a "C" or "D".
but still it is something i got to do and love to do (minus the cooking).
yeah, i am a SAHM. -

actually i don't buy those career experts who said one will excel if he chooses the job he like to do... this is like fairy tales to me... to me in the real world one should find a boss who look highly upon you and willing to give you opportunities, that's the most important.... -
A boss who likes u is like a mentor. Obviously is important to have inorder to survive and move ahead.
However when one reaches 50, situation always changes. Must learn not to hve any boss after 55.
