      Thank you Champion 🙂

It's only for P3 and above? and it is for more advanced students?

          i3mum,

My kids this year p3 & 4. Champion already answered the rest of your questions. Thank you, Champion.

24hr-mum, yes, you are right, the teacher must be good or have passion and patient to explain to the child and also the child must be willing to learn. I have two DS of different characters in terms of learning so I understand.

I also did try to teach my younger DD (K2 this year), sometime i can really scream out my lungs because they don't seem to understand 😞

            Any suggestion?

              i3mum,

I'm still learning on how to coach my children. They are constantly changing as they're growing up. So different ways of approaching them at different stages. Currently, the only word that I can think of in answering your question is \"Patience\". 😉

Another thing is managing our expectation.

I always believe in running thru the same CA/SA qns again to pick up the gaps. Sometimes the gaps may be too many, eg, child only got 60ish marks. Therefore, instead of perfecting everything, choose those types of qn where marks were lost but yet quite easy and tackle them to bring the foundation to the next level. It’s slow and tedious…but at least the incremental improvement can bring confidence to the child.

i started to coach my girl but ended up very very angry with her "attitude" . she does not seem interested, looked like being "forced" to learn and i have to "threaten" that i need to send her back to tuition class ( which she dislike) as our arguings and my nagging will seriously affect our relationships .

I agreed "patience " is indeed very important…

In fact, I am still unsure whether I should stop her maths tuition or not ! cos at least during the 1.5hr, she is being "locked" in the classroom instead of wasting time at home…

It is very common that parents find it very frustrating to teach an unwilling son/ daughter in assessment works. Schoolwork not so bad as they need to hand up completed homework to the teacher.

Should you pull your dd from the tuition class? Qn is whether the class tuition helps her or not? Above average kids are likely to benefit but below average kids are likely to learn little or none from class tuition. \"Locking\" her in the classroom is not only wasting her precious time there but also exasperate her if she is not benefitting from the tuition.

If your kid lacks learning skill, you just might have to spend more $ on One to One tuition. A child will be more willing to listen and learn from the tutor who is able to help the child understand and solve difficult qns.

May God bless you with wisdom and patience.

                        1) Above average kids are likely to benefit...
my girl does benefit from the practise paper that the centre provide, cos i will usually check thr n correct her while doing the tuition's hw HOWEVER, i m feeling \"heartpain\" as she need to do so many hw which include hw from her school, and the rushing of tuition classes after school.

                        2) \"Locking\" her in the classroom is not only wasting her precious time there but also exasperate her if she is not benefitting from the tuition....

if i dont send her for tuition, she will take her own sweet time and left us no time or no \"mood\" to work efficiently ......i m in a dilemma...

i totally agreed, but i have $ constraints

4)May God bless you with wisdom and patience....

i lilke this :please: so i seek wisdom from parent like u here :lovesite:
