      Laura02:
Dd used to go for berries but stopped in P2. She also went for abacus in kinddy, but stopped in P1.

Dh and I use any and every opportunity we have to teach her. When she was younger, every outing was a math lesson. From counting out pencils that she wanted to buy, to calculating the costs of those pencils, and the change to expect. Now, going cycling is an opportunity for discussion on plants, speed, kinetic energy - anything and everything that takes our fancy. And I correct here grammar whenever I spot mistakes.
I spend a lot of time reading up on science, and questions that may come up in exams.
Yup,this is the way i teach my son too.
But my dd(k2) off me.whenever i go outside with her i started like there is a mynah, she say no its a bird.then i say mynah is a bird.she still argue with me it is not mynah its a bird.. 😢

        We all worry about compo.

I think we have to put some effort to do that.esp our kids work hard on this.
previously my son can read info books.but nowadays he say boaring.how about urself?i just worrying. Today i only chose the books as he refused to come.i took some books such as digestion, how to earn money.he like science comic books or magazines.
He doesn’t’t like mudurous maths and horrible science as the books full of facts.

            Hi all

I send both my kids to Icreativelearner when they were in preschool …as for Chinese I send them to Beijing language but after some time I pulled them out now I send my eldest gal to home based tuition recommended by my friend which she started from p1 till now … So far so good! As for the other subjects I outsourced to tutor… Easier that way as I find it difficult to teach them on my own and always end up with a fight in long term it’s not healthy for us! I believed in building strong foundation so that they will not struggle when they reach upper level… So kiasu right?

if i can turn back clock, i wouldn't send ds1 to PCF preschool. i would send him to the church kindy that i sent my ds2.
I am also glad that I have send ds2 to a church kindy 🙂
Am glad have started them on reading since young. Ds1 read widely but sad to say he is reading much less now in sec. Ds2 is a late bloomer and have shown much improvement over the years. 🙂 if I can turn back the clock, I may insist them to join some speech and drama class to build up their self confidence and public speaking.

All these talk about what we could do differently for our P4 kids get me thinking of how I should groom DD2 who is only 9 months old. Becos of the 9 years age gap between my 2 girls, I wonder if lessons learnt with DD1 would be applicable to DD2. Frankly I have been too sleep deprived and stressed over SA1 to think about it. But think I should really start reading books to my baby as she approaches 1st birthday. One thing for sure is that we will be speaking more mandarin with her. With more emphasis on spoken Chinese, we have to expose her to mandarin early. And start Berries at an earlier age too!
