Do your kids still sleep on your bed?
-
My 9 & 7 Year old ,have been sleeping with us & for the past 2 months, they have been sleeping in another room, with my maid on the floor beside them.
I have specified that only weekends they can sleep in my room. Most often when they do, my hubby ends up sleeping on the sofa outside, and I sleep on the mattress on the floor, while the boys take up space on the bed. Recently, my kids dont want to sleep with the maid ,she is super blur and will snore away ,and the kids can run out of the room ,without her knowing.
Sometimes, hubby wants to get cosy wif me, and when i stop him as the boys are with us, he sleeps on the sofa and sends me angry SMS. i really dono how to deal with this situation. I keep explaing to the boys that they are big enough to sleep on their own, but they dont care. -
My 4.5 yo has been sleeping with us in the master-bedroom since birth and we were wondering how to get him to sleep in his own room! In the first place, we need to prepare a room for him and that was occupied by the maid. There is a third smaller room occupied by the baby.
Recently, we decided we must migrate him out already otherwise poor hubby won’t get proper sleep. Me? I have been a floater since my BB was born either in the baby’s room or sleeping out on the sofa.
So we recently got some movers to help us move the furniture around, move the maid to sleep with the BB and then make the 2nd bedroom almost exactly like the master-bedroom ie. we push two single beds together so that it is almost exactly like the king-size bed in the master-bedroom! This is very important because if we were to try to make my boy sleep in a single-bed, I don’t think the migration is going to be very successful! True enough after we put on the bedsheets, it seems almost like the master-bedroom already and my boy readily took to sleeping in his own bedroom!
But hor, one of us still need to keep him company ok? Was initially me but now it is daddy’s turn. So I get to come back to the master-bedroom after all! Ke…ke…ke… -

be firm. the boys are old enough not to share a room with mum and dad. each time they come running into your room (crying or whatsoever in the middle of the nite), just be firm and take them back to their room and stay with them for a while, let them fall asleep again, then back to your room you go. either that or you let them sleep in your bed (after they come crying) and carry them back to their room.My 9 & 7 Year old ,have been sleeping with us & for the past 2 months, they have been sleeping in another room, with my maid on the floor beside them.

put a small light in their room so that it is not total darkness or open the curtain for the street light to shine into the room.
your hubby is not too happy about not being able to cuddle up to you and he is sleeping in the living room. well, be careful, you have a maid in the house. sometimes in the darkness and still half awake, anything can go wrong. -
It isn’t easy if the kid keep crying until he puke. To save the trouble of have to clean up the puke, change blanket, change sheet etc and then end up sleepless, I just let my son sleep on our bed.

Hi Dazzle,
How old is your boy? -
After 10 yrs he is still sleeping in my bed

Mine no.1 is already 11. Still sleeping in our room on a mattress. Younger one on our bed. Doesn’t bother us 'cos we know that come teenage years, they won’t even want to jump on our beds even if we invite them to do so.
Younger one doesn’t want to move out so older one also don’t want to move out. I guess fighting for attention. -
My ds1 is 5 this yr, we bought his a 6inch mattress to put on the floor next to our bed to sleep when he was 10 months old. Now that we have our own house, he share his room with his baby brother. We just shift ds2 from our master bedroom to his brother room last month when he was only 6 months old.

Well, after months of complaining about our DD (6yo) not sleeping on her own, we decided to put our foot down and insisted she occupy her own room. But then mummy and daddy missed her so we ended up with one squeezing on her single bed and the other one on the floor. Finally it still felt better to all migrate back to our king size bed in the master room...conclusion is that we all love to cuddle up

Since birth, my girl (now 6YO) had been sleeping on her own bed with helper on a pull out bed. She had started to bunk in with us when she was 3-4YO, Fri, Sat & next day PH are bunk in days.
