      Just to seek clarification.

If I have registered my kid under phase 2A, I probably will get to know whether my kid is accepted even before phase 2B starts. Can I still register for 2B when my kid has already secured a place in another school?

      Is this actually allowed?

MOE very strict. At any one time, your child can register under 1 phase only.

so if you’d already registered child under phase 2A but keen for a shot at 2B, then you must de-register (withdraw) your 2A seat first, before you even attempt 2B.

but once you give up your 2A seat, can never go back anymore. Because that particular 2A seat you chose to give up - has now turned into an immediate vacancy, and is given to the next waiting child in the queue, eager to come in. Thus, your child’s fate lies in 2B whatever outcome from now.

if 2B no need ballot - then you are safe, child gets in.
but if 2B require balloting and your child gets balloted in, Congratulations !
if not, then your next hope lies in 2C.

when come to 2C, same thing.
if 2C no need ballot - your child gets in safe and sound.
if 2C require balloting and your child gets balloted in, Congratulations!
if not, then your next hope lies in 2C Supp.

same theory repeat with 2C Supp…

Singapore citizen (SC) children are given privilege to enter first before PR.
thus for hot popular schools, SC will occupy all seats first before PR kids.

Why angry? ‘back-door’ application is still practising in Singapore. Just need to have some people get together to expose these ‘dirty’ tactics and expose the principal’s unprofessionalism.

Some application thru RC members, those whose term are not 1 year, they are not qualified under Phase 2B. But somehow, some people managed to ‘back-date’ their application in such a way there are serving 1 year already. UGLY people.

I suppose the anger stems from the fact that..

            1. She's Zoe Tay.. (issit even that big of a deal?)
            2. That she & hubby were publicized as doing volunteer work (trying for 2B)
            3. Didn't get in NYPS via 2B route
            4. Then how the heck she could've gotten into HPPS via (hubby) alumni.. :skeptical:

Alumni is under Phase 2A, if they didnot apply under this phase, it is gone case. Why the school principal allowed them to ‘back-date’ their application?

Phase 2B is not successful. GONE CASE. They have to use Phase 2C route.

It is time for MOE to investigate the integrity of the school principal. why celebrities must have entitlement leh?

                phtthp:

anyway her case is clear cut, under MOE P1 registration rules.
As she stay more than 2km from that school, she wasn't given any chance to ballot, together with many other phase 2B Parent volunteer(s) in the same boat, also staying more than 2km. So she remained back at phase 2A, at an earlier phase she had registered much earlier. However had she shifted much nearer / closer less than 1 km, her son would definitely have got in!
Even if the queen of Caldecott hill has done 80 hours of PV at nanyang, rules are rules. Holland Road is more than 2km away. No reason why she can get her son in. That is one VERY HOT school and since she is celebrity, more eyes are watching if she had gotten her son in.

                  The problem is not distance.

The concern is under MOE rules, once a person missed Phase 1 application, it is no longer valid even the kid has siblings in the school.

Not forgetting others who use other methods to get into popular schools eg. change to relative's address, rental property via connections etc... the list goes on. If they really check... it's like opening a can of worms. I am unsure if there are fines imposed? If not the government will strike lottery :scratchhead:
