smartmummy:
Hahaha....currently i am reading psle survival guide.wow that so much related to our family.my son also read and laugh.
I read the book too, when DS1 was taking his PSLE last year.. A nice book to read with DS.. Informative with a light touch of humour.. Their situation was very similar to our family too (except that we have 2 DSs but the family has a DS and a younger DD).. Even the lizard in their house looked similar to ours, haha!

Yup i started but not the same title. But the people are so smarter than me and gave reaction like :yikes: .i so eembarrassed and hurted.wherever i say p 4 people give the same reaction.no need to worry in p4. Only p5 onwards need to prepare for psle.as parents we always worry about our kids.i planned to bring my son dsa school open houses.then i dropped the idea.better focus to psle.hmm..we have to walk another two years on the road.
oh really? where is the thread?
Think smartmummy has started one PSLE2014 thread, smartmummy?711mum:
I think we may need to start an early & kiasu PSLE 2014 thread for our 2002 kids! After reading other posts and from my observation & comparison, I think 2002 kids are less discipline, less focus, have short concentration span - conclusion we cannot trust them to study on their own or prepare the PSLE with less supervision. We need to PUSH them real hard in order to make them move an inch!
Please share if your kids are otherwise stated above. Thanks!
I saw the PSLE prep for other years in
Board index ยป Schooling ยป Primary Schools - Academic Preparation & Support ยป Primary 6
2012 PSLE Discussions and Strategy
2013 PSLE Discussions and Strategy
So 2014 PSLE Discussions and Strategy anyone want to start? -

KSP:
just to check with the parents here, does your child's school have marking day for SA1 exam? dd school has 1 marking day and no school for them....
There was one day allocated for DD's school last year, yet to hear from them this year. -
no need hurt about the :yikes: :hugs:
if we all not kiasu, we will not be here.
but i still prefer to chat at this thread than go to 2014 psle thread.

Share the same thought as Jedamum. I rather take this PSLE thingy one step at a time or I will be the first one to experience burnout! -
Tresille:
So result centric... school should spare a thought for the child's pride. In that case, I better think thrice even if DD has been offered HCL.
Hi,711mum:
Hi Parents,
Would like to know your thoughts about your child taking Higher Chinese Language in P5 if offered.
P5 if the school offer your child, parents can choose to take up or not taking up. But comes P6, if the child do not meet the standard, the school will ask the child to drop. Parents cannot insist to carry on.
No harm taking up the offer IMO

My son has oneday holiday for ptm.
The thread name is \"tips from 2011 parents and students to juniors\"
I really didn't meant to prepare for psle2014,my intention was learn from experienced parents.what we need to do in p4.then we can put a strong foundation.we cannot regret in p5 or in p6.
711mum!, jedamum!
Thanks for comforting me.
No offence lah.
Some people think that psle 2013 also kiasu.we cannot help people's thinking process.
I don't need a thread for prepare psle 2014.
Anyone dare to start, then i am sure so many :yikes: would appear in many pages and without any tips it would buried like other psle 2013.
we can continuously discuss here upto. .....our kids highest educational level. Hahaha.......... -

firefly38:
Last year's PSLE top scorer (283) was a girl from Rulang Pri Sch, and she was NOT from GEP.. Many of the mainstreamers obtained higher t-scores than the GEPpers in my DS1's school last year too (though the top scorer in the school was from GEP).. So, mainstreamers are still capable of scoring above 270 and do well in PSLE..
actually is not that difficult to find out.... just go to any of the branded tuition/enrichment centre they show the top scorers on the notice board which put (GEP) besides those GEP students.... i would say most are from mainsteam...
Don't forget we have gep kids.smartmummy:

We have any maths genius or science genius?
I think 2002 parents are not kiasu.
