Tsk tsk... temasek stir over nothing?

Where and who are the angry parents of HPPS to start with, if the child confirmed not schooling there.. 😂
This temasek tends to make a mountain out of a molehill...not just once but several times already.

These celebrities should keep their mouths shutbefore registering their kids for P1 and even after theirs are in the school. Principals should also decide carefully which celebrities (for PV) to select. It's bcos certain actresses think they are big shots and as such they should be given priority. For goodness sake, they are just actors or actresses...just another job. Sometimes, these celebrities put their kids in awkward situation bcos of the way they behave.

in future, whoever celebrity creates commotion BEFORE their child enters Nanyang, one gentle reminder. Principal of that school has the authority to - either accept or reject that particular application to be a Parent Volunteer.

Once school reject, no matter how many times you appeal, is futile.
The school may not disclose reason(s) why you are rejected.

Education sector works differently from Entertainment circle.
Education sector does not condone glaring media publicity.

it may back fire, causing embarrassment to oneself.

Education industry is different from entertainment.

P1 registration is transparent. Those who enter entertainment industry have one purpose - to entertain us, the viewers.

无聊的人! So free to make complaints, why don't they spend more time with their kids to ensure they learn good conduct, perseverance & resilience? These are the qualities that will benefit the kids in the long run. Primary school, no matter how branded won't guarantee the kids to be successful in future wat.

            Agree!

My first thought when I saw this thread was - isn't it a bit of a passe (sianz....) news already? I mean....the rules of P1 registration has changed liow....shouldn't we be more anxious urh....focused on the next registration, fast upcoming already?

Parents, better don't drop your guard re. strategies, especially those registering P1 this year leh....all the best!

[PS: Ah Jie has my sympathy. It is not easy to be a famous star mama. She tried her best for her son. News of her PV couple of years already and yet if she did not get in, I only feel heart-pain for her. What a waste of time and disappointment for her son. POOR administration on the part of the school for taking in PV and then cannot guarantee the entry. That's why I don't agree to this PV scheme think they should do it away so as not to give parents false hope. With such great support from such a great mama, her son will do well whichever school he is now in! ] 😄

By the way, the group of star mamas and papas at Mediacorp are GREAT!

They are really serious about parenting and doing their best for their kids. They are really family men & women. One time I brought my boy to watch Barney show at the Changi Expo hall and happen to just sit couple of rows behind this group of Star Mamas (& papas)! And I heard that almost at every such shows this group of mamas and papas will book the same row and bring their kids there!

The fact that they are Stars working at Mediacorp has not rob them of their humbleness. They are as Kiasu as any of us here, perhaps even more! They try very hard for their kids!

Take a look at the parenting programmes that recently seems quite popular, featuring quite a number of Star Mamas AND Papas parenting their kids. Never have I seen them so serious and loving before. They are simply GREAT!

The only complain I have is I do not like one of them I thought quite pretentious kids still young yet talk like she knows everything. I don’t want to name names lah.

I also saw another Star Mama sending her kid to a kindergarten which my boy was in. She dress humbly and low-profile as well. But she tall and beautiful very recognizable leh! That’s the Star Power mah, wanna hide also cannot. Zoe Tay went out will wear sunglass and peak-cap, jeans and T-shirt non-descript just to protect her privacy family time.

I think they are truly great parents!
