Have not stayed in Somerset Ampang itself so can't comment on its specific surrounds but the LRT will b able to connect u to KLCC & beyond. Lots of stairs & walking esp within the interchanges though when we used public transport to explore KL years ago. Not sure if things have improved these days.Anybody stayed at Somerset Ampang Kuala Lumpur ?

Is the location convenient for shopping and food?
Thanks.
If u r driving, can try the Ampang Yong Tou Foo next to Flamingo Hotel.(Not as crowded & hot as the row of famous YTF shops.) There is a local mkt in 1 of the lanes behind it if u like to immerse in some local atmosphere in the a.m.

For those going to KL with kids, must visit Kidzania. Just opened in Feb 2012.This is a theme park where your kids can tried up to 90 occupations. However, my friend shared that within a day, they can cover only 10 occupations. Visit http://www.kidzania.com.my. I looking forward to my trip in May 2012.

U can try the other cheaper hotels like Citytell in mid valley but do note the rooms are small, can make do if you just want to stay over 1 night before setting off to places like Genting. You can use the link from the mid valley to walk to the mall, then take KTM train and take the LRT to travel out to places like Twin tower, there are other options to take buses or taxi to reach the KTM station. It is better to check the KTM train schedule else have to wait quite long for it.

Hi,
Kidzania sounds like a place I would like to bring my boy to. I will be staying at KLCC near twin towers . Please advise how to get from KLCC to Kidzania without driving. Is it possible to get there by public transport? If not, does anyone know the estimated cab fare if we were to go by cab? Any other places that I can bring my 3 year old boy to?
TIA. -
Any suggestion for any kids activities in petaling jaya? besides kidzania… i heard there is a farm in the city is it nearby?
-
we were at KL last week, personally I found that weather is too warm while we had lunch at Petaling street.
Thus we only stay inside malls and watch movie in the cinema. -
