Hey does anyone know how the Phase 2b really works, I'm catholic and wondering if this will be the phase i apply for .... e.g how do i know for instance what church is connected to the school we are interested?

Yes your kid (if baptised) is eligible for all Catholic schools at Phase 2B but of coz, if you apply for popular Catholic schools, distance will play a part in the balloting. There is no need to know which church is connected to which school. Baptism certs from any Catholic church are accepted at Phase 2B.

However, if your kid is not baptised, you need to call up the school you are targeting and ask if that is acceptable. Some schools may want the kid's cert while other schools may only need your baptism cert.

My girl is born in 2008 I am looking at AiTong and I am going to submit the applications with a cheque to be SHHK member. However, after running through the forum i belive i am short of time. I am quite hesistant to do so, seems like I have no chance at all due to the short period of time as a SHHK member. I am staying within 2km from Aitong. What should i do ??

It's not just the SHHK membership etc. Your home distance already no chance. Pple eligible for Phase2B must stay within 1km to even ballot. Same for Phase 2C. For SHHK letter, you need to be an active member for >4 years I think. You could be a parent volunteer instead. Call up the school to ask. And you must buy or rent a place within 1km.

Alternative is to choose another school.

Aitong will be balloting within 1km under P2C

Yup, even staying >1km to 2km no chance for Ai Tong. I live within 1km of Ai Tong and didn’t even dare to ballot.
