Hi I'm a dad and enrolling my son to primary school, as I have a baptism cert from Baptists denomination, may I know if it is recognised for any 2b phase of primary schools here? Asking as so far I see only Catholic primary schools.


Another thing is as I'm not very active in church, will the school accept based only on my baptism cert? Many thanks for your advice.

:? I only know of Methodist and catholic schools. Don't think yours is applicable in phase 2b.

It's not just the SHHK membership etc. Your home distance already no chance. Pple eligible for Phase2B must stay within 1km to even ballot. Same for Phase 2C. For SHHK letter, you need to be an active member for >4 years I think. You could be a parent volunteer instead. Call up the school to ask. And you must buy or rent a place within 1km.

Alternative is to choose another school.

Aitong will be balloting within 1km under P2C

Yup, even staying >1km to 2km no chance for Ai Tong. I live within 1km of Ai Tong and didn’t even dare to ballot.

Am intending to register my kid for p1 at Fairfield. On and off we are attending Fairfield Methodist church. We understand in order to register for phase2b, we have to be member of church. How do they defined as member of church? Must baptist? Or must volunteer our service at church? Appreciate your advises. Thanks

To be member of church, you must be baptisd and in their Register of Members. As to whether you need to volunteer your services, that will depend on both the church and the school. Better to ask both in advance.

I'm not aware of any Baptists primary school in SG. Maybe you can ask you chruch's office whether they have any affilated schools[/quote]I don't think there is any too. Only know of Methodist, Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian.
