      Zann:

My Happycall getting quite dirty on the exterior and I tried to scrub it but it did not work. Anyone can share tips how to remove the exterior stain? Also when would it be time to change the sealer? TIA.
Hi Zann, you can look into the FAQ in our second spree tinyurl.com/hcpspree02, the Q how to spot a fake pan, there are some pictures provided by Happycall to compare real and fake pan.

We use a metal stain cleaner to scrub the stain of the outer layer, it remove some but mostly cannot be scrub and if we scrub too hard, the porcelain layer will wear off. Waiting for astonish to see if it can do the job

The ones sold at United Square basement and Isetan are authentic. Just go and buy there. No need to order online.

The sealer is the silicone tubing that seals the pan when closed. It needs to be replaced when the pan begins to leak everytime you turn it over the other side.

        Chenonceau,

Does the United Sq store sell only the Std size? Or, does it carry other sizes as well?

They may have run out of Std. They have the DEEP but red in colour... not ocher.[/quote]I saw the Ocher with grill at United Sq leh...

BTW, how do you know if the food is cooked... Keep opening to check?
I used medium heat and still burnt some parts of the drumsticks I was cooking coz I couldn't look inside... I saw your blog on the roasted chicken but mine burnt despite only using medium heat for less than a minute and turning down to low heat for the next 5 minutes... I used Korean BBQ sauce and it was quite sweet. So how to control the heat for meats with such marinades?

Thanks superbmothers. My HC only fulfill the first criteria. My vendor was not one of the three mentioned earlier in your post, so does it mean i got a fake one 😢 😢

My neighbor iS using PUB gas cooking.

So she can use happy call.

Oh. She explained today it is coz aluminum might cause alzhemier.

Then again, many many things we come across these days have aluminum.even can drinks.

            Sme info from a friend

The majority of the human population in the industrialized nations ingests a minimum of 30 to 50 milligrams of aluminum metal per day. An examination of labels on consumer products will reveal that many of them contain the metal, aluminium.
Most foods contain aluminum products. Beverage cans, aluminum foil in contact with food, aluminum pots and pans and aluminum in drugs (including most antacids) insure that the cumulative load of aluminum in the human body eventually reaches critical level.

Cooking with permitted food additives (additives are acidic) increased leaching of alunium from aluminium cookware to food.

But I still order happy call pan anyway.

Coz so far, I did not come across read ups on aluminum giving organs failure which is what I am scared of.

And I will follow my colleagues advices, to use it for frying meat or oily stuffs.
Am not planning to use it for baking or non oily stuffs.
Btw, most of my colleagues have happy call pans too.

Zann, there are many vendors that are selling genuine product but as i mention the 3 has the most desirable gifts.

If you don't mind, share to us which vendor do you get from. We already bought from 80% of the Gmarket Vendor before. Some are obviously fake and we don't buy from them, waste $$

Thank you for your sharing autumni76, we did our own research. In general aluminum ware are general safe to be use as mostly are anodized (hardened) However, acidic food are best not to store in aluminum ware for a prolong time as it will leech and breakdown the anodized layer. We recalled seeing the warning on the English operation manual but do not know why then. Lucky there is a way to \"repair\" the layer. After a detergent wash, reapply the oil firm layer, it will help to \"repair\" the pan for longer use.

Here is the link from http://alzheimers.org.uk/site/scripts/documents_info.php?documentID=99, it will definitely help to ease many mums' mind

                    thank you superbmothers.

It really eases my mind more too. (Was all tensed up for quite awhile after the conversation with my neighbour yesterday).

I have faith in Korean goods and feel that, anything used in moderate should be harmless.

Anything that we do is always for the well-being of our family and friends. 🆒

I have emailed my order to you (made the payment today).

Hope my mum and MIL like the present. :snuggles:

Was in town…so decided to go to the Everything Korean shop to take a look at the HCP. Small little shop, crowded & lotsa people holding some gmkt/deal printout. Things inside all from Korea.

Understand there’ll only stock for deeper (red $72.90/ ocher $74.90) & jumbo. I have waited long enough, so just went ahead to buy the deep ocher (no free gifts & sealer out of stock).

                        After I left, then realised
                        A) never ask if any warranty
                        B) how come theirs dun come with box or that shiny sticker.
Anyway, purchased…too late. It looked authentic so hope won’t regret.
Will hide it in room from MIL first, can only start using on Mon.
