Hi, recently my children are attracted to ipad and iphone games. I found these games suitable for young children as they get to learn something from the these applications. They are pretty interesting and attractive to my kids.

      The first game is TotsWorld,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVXZ0ZJKL_M&feature=player_embedded. Children could learn the objects that they see in their daily lives.
This application is great but the only bad thing about it is that it is only available on ipad.

The second game that my kids also love is Matching Jobs, which allows the kids to learn about different occuptions while having fun playing the game. This cost $0.99 and is available on both ipad and iphone. Its definitley worth the price.

Strongly recommend these iphone and ipad games. And is there any other games that you all recommend since the kids nowadays love to play on ipad/iphone?

My kids enjoy watching leap frog dvds and they also pick up some literacy and numeracy skills.

Can you please share any fun and educational dvds for young kids.

            Hi cherrygal,

As i have never see either videos, can you comment the educational value or emphasis of dora and wonder pets? Eg numeracy, literacy, science, foreign languages (Spanish for Dora?), moral values, history, geography, etc.

            Thanks.

Dora - ABC, numeracy, geography, animals, values like friendship

Wonder Pets - values like sharing, honesty, being humble, being nice to others etc

She likes Elmo and Barney as well. Hi-5 is good as well.

Other than leapfrog, Dora and little Einsteins, my kid also like superwhy, Sid, Harry and the dinosaurs, backyardigans, cat in hat, poppets and Disney clubhouse.

Most of these have adventure/ challenge as the backdrop ie the lead characters have a prob and they need to travel/find some tools to solve the problem. while they have similar back drop, disneyclub house and backyaridgans is more toward friendship/social behaviors and Harry and dinosaurs are more imaginative. Backyardigans are more geared towards songs and dance too.

Sid, cat in hat are more towards science, discovery and general knowledge.
