P3 Exams

Puzz...zzle:
My DD used to be top in class , even in this year p3 Ca1. Most subject above 90 , maths and science was 97% in Ca1. But....this round just like landslide, all subjects fall / drop badly range lower 80+. I am shock and lost ! The worst is the papers returned section by section each day, given me the heart attack everyday. Bad mood these 2 days, really don't know what to do next.... :?:
Take a deep breathe and relax.
Look through the papers to see what kind of mistakes were made and take if from there. And what are the rest of the classmates scoring? She might still be top of the class even though her marks are not in the 90s. -

SAME! :hi5:
I realise for a lot of kids, exam period means no other activities except revision. The kids' swimming coach called me for 2 consecutive weeks asking if the kids were swimming as the rest of his students were not since it is exam period. Told him for us, exam or no exam, unless they are not well or weather does not allow, they will still be going for their lessons. The pools and the playgrounds at my place have been deserted these past 3 weeks. No kids came to our door looking for my kiddos.buds:
Agree abt being understanding. Not all parents will buy ice-cream for their children during exam period. I recall sharing somewhere in another thread that I brought my girls out for a Swensens dinner & ice-cream treat before exams even started but some parents tend to watch children's snack intake. For me personally, taking care of health isn't a one-day thing... It has to be monitored thru out the year exams or not. At least for me, one time of ice-cream won't amount to much. But different strokes for different folks, aye? :celebrate:
After one hr cartoon, mine wud forget abt tough paper liao. :politebleah:
Psst.. new user, I thought you're a daddy! :yikes:
For DD, life is as per normal for her, exam or no exam. She still gets her daily dose of outdoor play. That break is not only for her but for me and my helper as well. It helps to keep all of us sane. I did take away her ipod touch though.
Right down to the iPod touch.
They only get iPod touch during hols after assessments done and house is clean. Outdoor play is important for growing bodies and minds. -

My best friend's DD needs to do assessment books soon after the exams (last Friday afternoon itself) and the intensity stays the same. According to her, all these should be routine. :yikes: She is very strict and also her DD is co-operative.
I don't have that kind of stamina. I need my break too. DD will appear very co-operative oso. I ask her to do she will do. Anyhow do. Which will make me :stompfeet: :frustrated:  , then I will  :nunchuk: :spank: her and she will
:gloomy:  .
Really don't have that kind of energy. -

My DD also had the same lifestyle regardless of exam or no exam except the TV time. TV time was limited to 1 h per day. Other than that everything (outdoor play, shopping, etc) was normal. And I told her not to touch any academic stuff for at least a week (of course after the exam). She is very happy. Give and take policy. If I ask her to do something next week (after a week break), she will do without complaining. I also told her not more than an hour everyday. We are going on holidays in june again she can have the total break for 15 days.
Likewise for my DDs. 1 week break off assessments of any kind!

My DS continued with sport activities during preparation for exam…
Took away the games and TV though… -

Guess most of us are going thru this in different 'shock' levels..
Must not take it too hard...

My girls hardly have time to watch tv then. Homework was a killer!
-
DD’s teachers don’t seem to be piling them with much homework. More often then not, she will tell me she doesn’t have any homework. And on days that she comes back with any homework, those can be completed within like 15-20mins. Only ones that take her a longer time to complete are HCL homework.

My DS seldom has homework..just the occasional compo..
Wake-up call for some of us, as we frantically share info via sms...

My child school in comparison with P2 is at least got homework everyday. Just that he was lazy and need me to go home and check. But weekends, the homework would be heavier. End up I have to ask him to complete Friday else it would be last min at Sunday night since he got classes and activities to attend.
