The by-election in Hougang is certainly going to be interesting. Although the Worker's Party is likely to win, there's definitely going to be an increase in PAP votes, even as Hougang residents maintain their solidarity with the WP.

How is dis campaign cheaper? There is no change in candidate's deposit etc...I'm actually hoping for a three-cornered fight this round. Entering into the election is cheaper this time, since it's a BE, so I'm hoping another opposition party like NSP or the Reform could try their luck at this. It'll certainly make the BE more interesting.

Only Png is contesting under WP's banner. Dr Poh will have to resign from WP and contest as an independent candidate.
Why is he doing that? Many strange things have happened in WP recently. First an Indian member resigned and slam the party. Now Dr Poh out of the blue came out to contest without WP's blessing.
Where is the stink coming from? -

But I think it is sad if people are doing this for their personal gains and advertisement rather than considering the party image at large.... Selfish reasons... I hope WP is not brought down by this after what they have build and it's obviously stronger than other opp party.
Between the Png and the Poh, I would go for the Png. Just hope that Zeng guy dropped out. It's hard to imagine who would vote for him ????? -

I also but in the right frame of mind, I don't think he will/ should do that mainly because he was not nominated by WP to run for HG. If he stands, it means that despite being a member of WP, he chose to quit and run independently. If he does that, he was like trying to prove WP wrong that he is a better candidate than PEH???
If he got elected, I don't think he will want to join WP. Maybe he will form his own party???? Actually this guy is dh's ex-colleague years ago. Not impressive... If people dunno PEH, then who is those guy ????
Saw really funny comments on the web by HG voters that alot of \"well meaning\" friends/ relatives,etc.... asked them to vote wisely when they feel that it's none of their (non-Hougang voters) business. -

WP won't accept him back. His action is nothing short of a \"betrayal\". If he manages to win the election as an independent candidate, he will have to serve his terms as one. Do not think he is allowed to join up with any political party after being elected.
