Huh ? that means 70% is the passing mark !!! Faint .... no wonder DS2 asked me to prepare for the worst !!! Is that the same criteria for all subjects ? 😓

Seems yes, for all subjects. I think we should look into the average score of whole class/whole school, normally school will tell us about this.

During the GEP briefing at the school earlier this year, it was stated that 70% is the baseline for promotion criteria to next GEP year. Of course, they will still look at the aptitude & attitude of the pupil as well. "All pupils are monitored for coping and performance."

oh, is it ? I think I missed that part. So 70% to get promoted, that's tough....hopefully DS2 can get at least a passing mark ...

Don't worry. I don't think they are aiming to fail the kids & stop them from being promoted. Surely they will work with the kid (& parents) to help him/her in the areas required to improve for future tests in order to pull up their averages. :xedfingers:

The most important is still the year end final paper which contribute the most percentage to the overall score.

My DS in Tag2 said highest score for Chinese in his class is 56/60. :scared:

Has the science paper 2 been given out yet? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DS will at least passed (as in 30/60) :xedfingers:

Sci : Nearly fall off from my chair when DD told me she got overall score of 65. She sat for the test and got 42/60. Wondered if the performance task pulled her down. No wonder she told me to be mentally prepared…

HCL : Still managed to score 80% abv and highest score in the sch is 89.5%.

                        Eng : Still unknown

Wonder if the 70% baseline applies to per subject or overall aggregate score? If per subject, I think time to go for extra tuition…stress !!!
