All About Full-Time Maids

So if your maid is "good" and you want to help her save the transfer fees levied by the agency, you may want to post her expectations on any forum and if there are other employers looking for a good maid, they will be happy to take her.
Some say there may be some savings for you as the new employer will save you the cost of having to buy a one way ticket to send her home. I don’t know if this is true so you may want to check this out -
Hard Truth:
My pino maid asked for ticket compensation from me and looked for her own employer to transfer. She is not very fantastic and that is why I didn't want to renew her contract. i rather spend money looking for new maid. Anyway, I gave her few hundred dollars and she is still not contented.... :mad:So if your maid is \"good\" and you want to help her save the transfer fees levied by the agency, you may want to post her expectations on any forum and if there are other employers looking for a good maid, they will be happy to take her.

My maid says she don't go out at all so one day only one set of clothes, how to use washing machine? My working clothes also cannot put in washing machine. I guess it depends on how big the household. Imagine my neighbor has 5 adults in the Hse plus the children and maid, total 8!! How not to use washing machine??? Think the maid will quit if she needs to wash so much clothes by hand.
I own a machine but as mentioned before its only for bed sheets, bankets and comforters... The maid is not allowed to operate the machine and has to wait for my mum or myself to turn it on. Theres 4 of us in the family and it has always been handwashing since 25 yrs back when we first started with maids. Today is no different, none of the maids are complaining about not having to use the machine for our clothes. There are some maids tat would actually handwash our bedsheets. Personally I rather handwash myself cos the machine tends to spoil my clothes and look older after that. -

Is it true that once after their loans have been paid up, the maids start acting up?
This morning, my maid told my mum (coz I work) that she needs to go home to look after her kids. Her sister (who is the main caregiver) had a fall-out with her mum and is now living in the \"city\" instead of the province. Her mum is not old but sickly, and doesn't bother about her kids so the kids are now very skinny.
Maid's husband is a good-for-nothing. Only gave money in Dec when he had seasonal job. So far, have been living in the \"city\", and have been sighted with various women entering Hotel-81-type places....
She wants to go home to take care of her kids. We have got exciting family additions in Q3, 2012 so its stinky timing
. Should I allow her to go back for good? I know she needs the money- not sure if she's aware of the implication of returning home...

yes, it seems that once they have money in their pockets, they start to dream about home. The sad thing is that when she is back, she probably will yearn to come out to work.
Maybe you can counsel her and let her know how much agency fees are these days. if she has made up her mind, no point to keep her longer.
My maid (myan, unmarried) actually told me she wants to leave end of the year when her contract expires. I’ve managed to convince her to stay until her passport expires (another 9 more months only). want to put off having to find a maid for as long as I can. she told me she didn’t want to go overseas to work anymore. I couldn’t tell her about agency fees now so reasons I gave her was that making passport is expensive, so better not waste. and although she’s been sending money faithfully home, a bit more won’t hurt. -
Hi hquek, if your maid’s contract(& permit) expires before her passport, can she continue to work in Spore without formally renewing her contract and permit? Or she has to renew for another 2 yrs, but her passport will expire in 9 mths, right? Then how?
Just wondering how employers handle such ‘tricky’ situation…
