MOE Relooking P1 registration - Too much priority to alumni

How to have government make regular spot check every now and then ?
deploy what kind of resources to spot check regularly ? -
First and foremost, provide an avenue for whistle blowers to feedback.
Next, the system should highlight suspicious data. Just run a program to scan thru the database now and then. Not need to deploy much manpower. If encountered questionable cases, then alert officers to do a manual checking/verification of data, before deciding whether to deploy an officer to do a house visit/spot check, or just call the fixed line from office to look for the kids and check with telecom on the residential address, to check if they’re really staying at the address given etc… -
Very hard…especially if these are your friends and family…

Not hard ! If we r talking about fair & square. Question is whether gahmen wants or don’t want. Just look at the Sunday newspaper - the question is it necessary to put parents to go through all these extra just to put kids into choice school. How to have more kids ? If I knew I have to go through all these I rather not to have kids

Yesterday's ST 20/5 mentioned something about PV for P1 registration.
MOE guideline is 40 hours. Some schools have just raised to 70 and Nanyang set at 80. Is it fair for parents to have to go through such craziness prior P1? Some schools want parents to be involved in IT and design stuff. This is exploitation of parents! Surely these schools can ask MOE for resources. Just because these are popular schools? -

Actually I feel that is nothing wrong with it.

They are Not forcing parents to do things. If the parents happy to volunteer, why prevent them from doing so? If they not happy, they can don't do.
PV is extra.. it is not as if if you don't PV, you can't take part in P2C or something like that.
As for IT and design stuff, what's wrong with it? I'll rather do IT and design stuff than to do \"bo liao\" stuff like direct traffic.. it is subjective.
If my kids school got such opening for IT stuff for PSG, I'll be even more willing to help.. as long as I can afford to. -

It is nothing wrong for PV but it has become spiral effect & parents have become obsess with the process. Is it still nothing wrong. We r talking about social stigma & expectations which form the society value. You may have parents which do not care but when you hear so & so doing these and we don’t do it for our kids then right from the start we are already depriving our children & not doing the best we can for the kids.
