:siam: -
hello super mummy buds how was ur day today?

buds:
Thanks fightingmom. :snuggles: I'm not fighting help if I can geddit.
Both our parents work. My dad helps a lot most times. Take the girls out. Sometimes chubs get to join too now that he is older, easier to manage.. Come over n play with the children.. Invite us all out mall-hopping and makan.. Or ferry us around if i need his help (we too poor to get a car).. but that is if he's not working. Today, he accompanied us preschool recce-ing. I set appt to visit one this morning. I have my work cut out for me, for chubs literally held on to buddha's leg thru out. :faint: Oh boi...
I took up a fren's recommendation for part time helper last mth.. and the lady wasn't bad at all.. very efficient.
But I suppose if it's to last in the long run, a full-time helper is what we really need. So that life does not just revolve around the house and the children! I am guilty of having used to think that SAHMs with helpers are either really pampered or spoilt brats (shao nai nai)
... but I suppose in off-cases... it CAN be a need as well. A necessary help to ensure the home mechanics run smoothly.
To be frank, many maids won't want to work in a household with so many kids. They say 'no problem' during interview but a few days in your house, they will want to leave. Some of my friends employ 2 maids and things so far so good. At least if one leaves, u still have another while waiting for new one to arrive.
Not easy now....take care. -
Totally agree. I have witnessed many of my friendsβ maids ran away due to stress created by kids. It is not easy to maintain a work life balance. We need the government to do more to help families with young children like us.

Agree with u LOLMum.. tts why I'm trying to convey it to buds_hubs tt one cannot just count on the helper to do it all. My elder two doesn't need the care & they're both in school whole day almost everyday next term. Tts two down.. so two more to go.. So planning playschool for chubs which leaves helper to only baby. Next comes supervision which can hopefully be my Daddie or myself. If I gotta work then will need to re-plan things. Cannot overwhelm someone new with too many responsibilities. Then again, on good days where everything goes well I can still manage. No one goes hungry.. house is swept and mopped.. clothes all folded.. and all homework done, with still some spare time for the children to run and play at the park, the playground or the basketball court to shoot some hoops. On terribly hot days, I'll pack us off for a nice cool swim.. everyone's happy. On not so good days, it can get pretty rough. It's like a shipwreck or pig sty.. no time to cook.. everything piles up.. everyone's cranky. I can still take it.. mess.. crying babies.. whip up a quick meal if the others can relieve me off the baby.. catch up on the pile-ups when the babies sleep in or when I gotta cut-grass ie. express milk.. (except for sheer exhaustion I suppose) but hubs may not be so forgiving esp if he has a rough day at work which I can understand.. I mean imagine being screamed at work for deadlines and yet still return home to screaming lil baby. Can understand. Thankfully I don't have such a short fuse so the mechanics of the household can still balance. If not it'd be a scream fest 24-7. My mantra.. tomorrow will be a better day. I can do things differently from the day before and loosen up some bits here n there and make it work. Tearing my hair out everyday will not be good on my blood pressure and not to mention that I would be quite botak in no time at all.

Today had been a better day. Thank you God and thank you for friends like you gals around albeit cyber ones.
Cheers! :celebrate: I gotta get meself some of those chillaxing chocs boi.. -
