Hi any mummies out there who has the info on the quality pass for the previous years in SMPS, in terms of:-
a) what is the percentage of P6 passes entering Sec 1 Express stream ?
b) what is the average mean score ?
c) how many pupils score > 250 ?
unable to find these info in the forum and also not in the school website.
Hi Laelmo, nice to hear that 5/6 P1 teachers are good and my girl is also enjoying going to school everyday. Which class is your girl in? mine is in Kindness

Hi Cheetian , I know only 5 p1 teachers, there are 6. I believe all are good. Mine is Patience.

Hi to all mummies with girls at smps,
I'm looking for used sets of uniform for my daughter. The older, and more seasoned and thinner and worn is the cloth, the better. Cos my daughter has HUGE skin issues with new uniform and I'm having a big headache. I'm looking at all sizes as I wanna stock up for when she gets older too.
Do PM me if you want to sell or give your uniforms away. Thanks a lot.

Hi Shuerei, I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s skin problem. Pending your getting old uniforms for her, have you tried asking the school to excuse her from wearing the uniform to school in view of her medical problem?
I don’t have old uniforms now, but I’ll certainly keep you in mind when it’s time to get new uniforms for my daughter.
I just remembered that Bibi & Baba can custom make the girls’ uniforms too. I wonder whether they can make new uniforms for your daughter using only material that is suitable for her, if necessary. But it’ll probably cost more than the usual ones.
But most of all I hope your daughter grows out of the skin problem very soon. -
Shuerie, what size is your girl wearing now, I will ask around, I’ve already given mine away.

Thanks Caynelle n laelmo for the suggestions n advice :). We are looking for all sizes cos she's still very small in size (smallest) n wish to prepare her in advance as she grows up. My hub even jokingly said can cut some green polka dots behind her out n use face paint on her body! If only we can find tshirt fabric with d same shade of green dots, then we can ask biblical n baba to customise...

Ha ha shuerei the polka dots & face paint joke is hilarious… thanks for sharing it. And it’s good you have such a sense of humour about this!
You’re welcome and I hope everything works out for your daughter soon.
Have a good holiday ahead! -
We are switching my daughter to St Margaret Primary School P1 starting this 2nd semester in 2012. We were given a placing as one student was going away for a few years. It will be a whole new experience for my daughter as well as for us. We are residing in Clementi and the challenge is sending and picking her to and from school daily. We might consider school bus after trying it out. Daughter is currently in a neighborhood school. Any parents residing in Clementi care to share your experience about self driven trips daily? How much time is sufficient?
We went through much dilemma over the last 3 days before deciding to go ahead and grab this opportunity for transfer. Daughter is excited about the change and so are we. We are trying to balance our children education and lifestyle with a focused and care free objective. We can’t be oblivious to the current rat race trend because our children will be on the suffering end if we as parents turn a deaf ear towards it. We have 2 other boys aged 5 and 4 years old.
As she’s new to the school, appreciate if any kind parents here will be able to offer us used SMPS uniforms and P1 textbooks in reasonable condition which you have no use for. I can be contacted at [email protected]. -
Can anyone tell me why slide animations are part of the evaluations for P3 science SA1? My daughter was penalized for not using sufficient transitions, effects in her PowerPoint presentation. What on earth does PowerPoint have to do with learning science? :?
-
I think the Powerpoint is for their English Oral not Science.
Science just happen to be the topic for the presentation skills.
I remember my DD doing that in P3, but they are not evaluated by how beautiful the slides are, rather their skills in presenting the topic and it was a group work.
Check with the form-teacher.
