By Election for Hougang

concern2:
Are you saying that it is these two people who are sabotaging the WP?sparks:
i would also think there are issues within WP itself. Shortly after last year's election, one quitted because he wasn't elected as NCMP. Then, during nomination for this HG election, another WP member took the form without party's knowledge. Why no one suspect it is him who sabotaged the party?
Why must any negative reports abt WP be connected to PAP in any way? That's all I want to say.concern2:
Both ET n PLG were out of d WP CEC went dis meeting was held.
You are fast. I thot I deleted my post on time.caroline3sg:
MMM said on page 51 that Eric told TOC he can attest that PEH was against NCMP then.
Yes, I know about that. I am just trying my luck to see if spark would fall into my \"trap\". :rotflmao: Anyway, I am sure sparks didn't think it is those people who are the spies.
If d circulation of d minutes is limited to CEC members,
then d mole(s) is(are) within present CEC or HQ admin staff.
Though ET came out is defence of PEH, nothing can be ruled out.
I m not saying ET is d mole, but moles wld so something like dat to cover their tracks.
It unlikely him coz he has quitted d party.
A mole serves no good purpose if he quits d party into which he was planted. -

Sigh, WP already shortage of good calibre people. Though we are not sure of internal WP affairs & management style, I would think the continued support from Dr Poh and appreciation to him is important.
PLG is(was) a senior WP member of many years standing.caroline3sg:
Is Dr Poh good? I mean his speech during GE2011 (I didn't watch). Before the candidacy / nomination form issue, was curious why didn't he express his interest to run? He may be more appealing in looks (& maybe qualifications too) than PEH.
He led d WP team in Nee Soon GRC in GE2011.
His best showing was giving Ho Peng Kee a big scare in GE 2006, IIRC.
At one time, he was second only to LTK in WP hierarchy.
IIRC, he was not reappointed to d CEC in 2010, n was being gradually sidelined.
He too helped out in HG.
If his recent act was of his own volition, its probably he feels he is not being appreciated after many years of service. -

The way I see it… those who resign from WP are doing the nation a favour. If both the men resigned because they thought they were not adequately rewarded for their efforts, then well… they really shouldn’t be MPs (of any sort). I am guessing that those who make it to WP’s CEC must demonstrate that they place the country first and themselves second.
There is nothing wrong with that. If the WP culture does not tolerate self-serving individuals, then of course, they will resign… and that can only be good for Singapore. I notice that Dr Peh put himself into the running for this BE. That is not right. -

While I agree with what you say, but MP must also know how to speak in Parliament, think fast & not kenna shoot by PAP. PEH lacks this. -

I wld concur dat there r some issues within WP dat hv to be dealt with after dis BE.i would also think there are issues within WP itself. I hv mentioned in an earlier post dat one phase of PAP's strategy is to discredit d WP leadership n selection process.
Recall d sequence of events relating to YSL, Fazli, Sanjeev, PLG, n now PEH.
d timing esp, IMV cannot be random such dat it converges at dis BE.
Totally isolated? Or is there an invisible hand orchestrating d attack on WP?
One of d objectives of dis strategy wld hv been met,
whether wat is said abt WP's leadership n management or PEH's integrity is true or not,
if voters n WP alike r distracted by dis sideshow n lose sight of d real issues to confront PAP in dis campaign. -

No lah, I never like speculations. I prefer facts based on what happened & form my own opinions.
As an observer, I agreed with that totally.
