Mr Jerry Gwee said: ‘I got money, I can pay the fine’.

Shame on you Mr Gwee. What kind of attitude is this? You have money and you can cause inconvenience to others? Just take a second and think what if you are at the receiving end of such attitude? What if the Principal of RGPS not happy with your behaviour and dismiss your twin girls and tell you:‘I have the power, I can do what I like’?

Rich doesn’t mean you have substance, once again it is proven here.

Then when Ms Kang said she would report him to the principal, he said: \"Never mind. I got money. You don't threaten me.\"

          fyi.
There is a long list of external pupils on Transfer Wait list, all very keen & eager to seek transfer into RGPS.

Mr Gwee, kindly control your attitude. Obey traffic rules. Strictly NO parking allowed inside yellow box, as it obstruct(s) Traffic. Cars cannot come out. Be considerate, for the sake of entire school. Do not create further future unnecessary sensational news. The school doesn't welcome this type of notorious headline news.

\"In Rome, do as the Romans do.\" Thus, kindly obey Traffic rules at Hillcrest road, outside school compound. This is also a timely reminder to other parents who are driving their daughters to school.

Be considerate to your own children feelings. As their father, do not make your twin girls become an unnecessary target of gossip - amongst RGPS teachers and their fellow classmates / school mates. Your Sir name is rare, is easy to identify them. Don't make school life difficult for them.

Children learn from parents, through silent observation. Parents are their role model. Your twin girls are also watching you - observing your behavior silently, in their heart. Character values are \"caught\" on the spot, through real life silent observation.

if your twin girls are asked to go, their two vacancies are immediately made available - for other external pupils from other school(s) to replace them at once.

Pity the twins as the students they will definitely gossip n some may even pass nasty remarks. The children are not very sensitive at such a young age and even if they are, they really dont care how the twins feel.

Best way to go RGPS is to take the school bus.

              School bus has priority.

Parents clash outside Raffles Girls Primary School

ONE driver calls another arrogant for refusing to move his car, which was parked in a yellow box thus blocking her car from getting out.

He, in turn, calls her rude for shouting at him and says he would rather pay a traffic fine than submit to her demands.

This confrontation last Thursday is not a daily occurrence outside Raffles Girls' Primary School (RGPS) at Hillcrest Road, off Dunearn Road, in Bukit Timah.

But the daily traffic congestion, which is especially bad during lunchtime, when parents drop off or pick up their children, not only causes frayed nerves but sometimes brings out the worst in some drivers

And it's a challenge to improve the situation, said the school.

In last Thursday's incident, Ms Julyn Kang, 37, a part-time lecturer, had just dropped off her seven-year-old daughter at about 12.45pm in front of a cordoned stretch of road that runs between the school and Hillcrest Road.

              Sounded horn

When she tried to reverse her car out to Hillcrest Road, she saw a BMW parked in the yellow box facing a locked school gate that is used for fire engine access.

She told The New Paper that as the car was blocking her way, she honked at the driver, who then alighted and walked towards her.

She said: \"I wound down my window and gestured that I wanted to go out.\"

She said the man told her: \"You reverse and go out behind me.\"

Yes, the best way is to take the school bus. They make more friends that way too.

I would think all parents appreciate school bus service. But SSTA needs to play their part too, in collaboration with the school. Right now it's basically a \"cow-boy\" attitude. There is no strict enforcement of the earliest time the school bus is allowed to reach the school based on my personal experience.

Even though there is supposedly a stipulated earliest time the bus is allowed to reach the school, but I know of bus that reach the school daily at around 6.30am, to facilitate their round 2 fetching of other passengers. Which means that the bus will push back the timing to pick up the girls at extremely early hours, and the girls will be left at the school from 6.30am onwards!!!!!!

If the school can work with SSTA to ensure that school bus reach the school not earlier than a more reasonable timing, the traffic situation can be more bearable for everyone. Right now it's a very assymmetric situation, some buses arriving as early as 6.30am, some 7am. It's now left entirely alone to the individual drivers, which should be not the case at all. I have informally sounded this out to the SSTA rep, and the response I get is \"Why don't you shift nearer to the school?\".

Just thinking aloud - if everyone stays at Hillcrest Road, why is there a need for school bus in the first place????

                    ER:

Top 2 classes girls are grouped based on results of English, Maths and science only. They regroup for Chinese lessons.
Thank you ER for the information.

Talking about school bus, I thought it's compulsory to have seat belts? My girl told me that the seat belt was not working in the school bus she took, so all the girls did not bother to fasten. :yikes:

Do you have your dd's password on the UNSW site? You can check the results online.
