I am looking for qualified MATHS tutor to teach 2 gals at my home in CCK area. My gals are in P2 and P4. Tuition to be done at my place as I am SAHM and no car. So it's difficult for me to bring my gals around whilst dragging a young toddler at same time.
All replies can reach me at: [email protected]

Hi Dymples, I hired a Maths home tutor in April this year. My girl is in P3. Unfortunately I don't see any improvements. He doesn't seems familiar with P3 syllabus. He is still around because I used him as a reserve because its really hard to find a good home tutor. I pay him $50 for each lesson which is about one and the half hour.
I m also on the lookout for a better tutor. If you manage to find one, please let me know.
Be careful of tuition agency. I personally encounter a few agencies who actually google for tutors and after they found one they call you. It's like we parents do not know how to use google. Then they tell me I can't interview the tutor because they worry I will bypass the agencies and link up with the tutor myself. I told them \"no interview, no deal\" as simple as that.
Some agencies are run by teenagers as a part time job. -

If you are still looking, I know an experienced tutor. She teaches Pre-school to Secondary school students. She has been teaching for about 21 years. 13 years in mainland china and 8 in Singapore. She is patient and loves children. After my children was taught by her, they were able to attain A1 for their express chinese O paper and A stars for their PSLE chinese paper. As of what I know, many of her other students have done well for their chinese under her. She also has experience in teaching at tuition centres in Singapore If you are interested, please pm me for more details.

I am curious, how will the tutor discipline the child if he misbehave. I have a friend who's looking for a good tutor but seems like her son can't sit still during tuition. Any tutor out there know how to motivate?
For which subject as i know of a chinese tutor who is extremely patient with kids -

Hourly rates above $100 are usually only charged by jc/uni lecturers with some experience. Why would anyone need someone so grossly over-qualified for the job?
