      Hi mwchua,

You can read the thread under \"Book Fair\". Quite a number of us visited the Expo POP fair and World Book Fair @ Suntec City and had shared our experiences / comments there.

      Hope it helps. 😄

Thanks folks! My son who is turning 6 in a few months is able to read about 70% but I do not think he understand the full story if I do not guide and explain to him. He likes the GS series because the books are colourfull. Think reading is 1 thing, the ability to understand and re-tell the story is another. To be able to understand the story is the part I find very difficult to teach.

          mwchua:
Just realised that the 20% coupon typically found in the newsletter is now gone..... 🤷

Anyone has gone for the Expo Popular sale? Today is the last day, wondering if it will be worthwhile to go?

If you have gone to the Expo Sale, can kindly help to advise?

          Many thanks. :thankyou:

The 20% coupon is not in the Pop Club Magazine. If you need to get assessment books, you may go down to the Expo Popular Sale. The assessment books (Publishers like eg. EPH, Casco) are on 20% discount. But there isn't much stationery to buy.

if u are not buying much & stay far,& will be driving there, then not worth to go..coz u will be wasting petrol, & worse, the parking at expo NO longer has per entry aft 5pm/6pm..so fyi, if u are there for 2 hr=$2.80, 3hr=$5.40..

I was there for past 2 weekends..1st weekend we went for Home & Design Fair ard 5pm, to look ard for interior designers, park for ard 5hr=$10.60!!! in the past with per entry rate, will be only ard $2-3!!

this weekend, didn't want to go, but girl wanted to go Popular Fair, so we were there for 3hr, paid $5.40 for parking!! & bought a bit of things only 😞 think the savings is not worth, coz we stay west, very far!!

Seriously, I think it is not right for Expo to eliminate Per entry parking..coz being an exhibition hall, it doesn't seem right for people to go & support the fairs, but can't shop in peace, having to worry abt parking..especially, I am VERY sure, Expo is earning A LOT from rentals already!! can't help but feel very 'strangled' by all these 'silent' increase in cost of living!! sigh!!but well, maybe I am more 'ngiao'(calculative) regarding parking, so others may not agree with me..It's just my own personal opinion..& just hoping to raise this change in parking, in case some others who may mind, but has not noticed 🙂

For me, I will not go Expo anymore, unless really bo bian..will prefer to go Suntec instead!! hope the dec Popular fair will b held at Suntec!! 🙂

agreed with the parking. but luckily have the food fare and the electronic goods fair, else my husband would have :spank: me for getting him to drive us to the book fair only. 😓
dont think i will drive to expo next time considering the parking charges. may consider taking MRT....but we stay all the way at West too. but dont think my ds1 will mind as he loves to shop for novelty stationery. but will need to deposit my ds2 at his gramps if we intend to take MRT to this year end's sales.

i am surprised there isn’t any 20% discount vouchers in the booklet.

They decided to do away with it?
Thanks for the feedback, i guess I will give it a miss to go there

Yes, i was also surprised that there isn’t 20% voucher inside this time. Usually, i will use the 20% to buy stationery + assessment books.

Maybe Popular has decided that with Singaporean’s kiasu mentality, with or without the 20% parents will still spend on assessment books ! Hope they will bring it back in Dec issue…

GS books at the suntec book fair going about 6.50 per book, TS books 7.50. Popular sale is 20% off (can’t recall if they also have buy 2 get 1 free). Latest TS book retailing at $11.90 (didn’t see the others).
