All About Choosing and Buying Violins
-
I have 2 full size and a 3/4 size student violin for sale. Previously used by my dd, thinking of clearing as I have 5 full size sitting at home. Let me know if interested.

Mine also picked a violin for the first time. Never had to bother with choosing one. Anyway, he said his 3/4 was horrid (but better than the school's!), so any better 4/4, even if slightly, is absolutely fine with him. What can I say?!
I also have ears wat. For the price of what we tried, the quality was not what we expected. So well, after going to Synwin - for us, the \"search was not over\". haha.
My ds is spoilt in the sense that he's never had to shop for a violin before. So far, all were bought for him. His 3/4 and his viola - the shopping was done by his teacher who personally shopped and selected. We just went to pay. The viola the teacher paid first instead bc I found out got more discount if he bought. hah ... so troubled him to go instead. LOL.

He doesn't care about what sound he produces, ah?

Afraid not! But I think he prefers those low, mellow sounds, not those bright ones, since that was what he picked in the end. He rejected the 2 brighter ones. Maybe that's him cos he's not the chirpy type! Always moody and grouchy! -

Strings does play apart in the sound difference as well.phankao:

Is there any place where i can get the price of a string instructment assess? Thinking of swapping a viola for violin. But i don’t know who would give me a fair deal.

Hi, other than Synwin, where can I buy a hard violin case for full-sized violin? Wanted to buy Bobelock brand but can’t seem to find any, all those recommended ones are China-made.
Thanks, -

Have you considered Gramercy? I bought a BAM carbon fiber violin case there.Hi, other than Synwin, where can I buy a hard violin case for full-sized violin? Wanted to buy Bobelock brand but can't seem to find any, all those recommended ones are China-made.

My sister's violin teacher (since she was 3yo, she's now 16) lives near GY Sec. He teaches from his home. He was in the SSO and has been teaching for many years. He also has a children's orchestra in his church which provides opportunities for children to perform (even if you are non-christian, you are welcome). He also has year end concerts for his students to perform.mrswongtuition:
[quote=\"georgewong22\"]Hi luckystar, do you happen to know how I am able to contact Ms. Yah Wan Har?
Thistlesound, airex - I have a 6 year old daughter who is currently in Yamaha's Music For Children program. She is bored as it is sluggish and is only asked to play short notes 2x each class. She says she likes music and would like to pursue the violin.
We live around Bishan's J8 and am wondering if anyone has good recommendations of a private home tutor.
Thank you and best regards.
I can pass you his contact if you are keen. -
