      Hi can someone help please

      Henry Park Pri 2011 Prelim
Q 8. Alicia was cycling at East Coast Park with her family when she saw her classmate, Susan( ) a picnic with her family.

      1. has
      2. had
      3. have
      4. is having

The answe given is 4. my dd felt that it should be 'having'.

Q12. Banking hours in Singapore (. ) to accommodate to customers's differing schedules.
      1. has changed
      2. have changed
      3. has been changed
      4. have been changed

My question- Banking hours countable or uncountable noun?
      Thanks in advance
Actually I would think that (3) is the closest answer for Q8 because after the word 'saw', the closest verb must be in either root form (infinitive) or -ing form (gerund). So either 'have' or 'having'.

In this case, banking hours are considered as countable noun as the hour has a 's' behind (plural form). Uncountable nouns ie salt, sugar, food, etc. will not have plural form (for example, you don't put 's' behind the word 'salt').

Hence it is in plural form and is a countable noun, the answer should be
        4. have been changed. Option 2 is ruled out because banking hours cannot change on their own and are changed by someone.

              Hi,
Where did you see the answer that it should be \"I\"?

Answer should be \"me\". My father took Clement. My father took me. My father took Clement and me.

Please see those links posted by Tianzhu, or search the internet on usage of I and me.
This question looks more like a P4 question than a PSLE question.

              Thanks,
              Xiaohu.

                  Hi,

                  Thanks for the link.
For this question, \"My father\" is the subject, the objects are \"Clement\" and \"me\". Not \"I\", which is a subject pronoun.

                  Hope it helps.
                  Xiaohu.

The grammar rule here is 'who' comes before a verb, whereas 'whom' is usually sandwiched between 2 nouns.

                      (2) Only Paul paid attention to the instructor. No one else paid attention to the
                      instructor
Ans : No one else except Paul paid attention to the instructor.
                      This is correct.

there is a simple way to remember...

                        identify the verb ...i.e. took
                        before the verb...use I
                        after the verb....use me....
