        Hi

Would like to get you views on the strengths of Rivervale and Nan Chiau..any parents with kids in these schools? Workload? Environment? I stay Rivervale, considering for my child starting Pri 1 in 2014.
You have to be within 1km to qualify for phase 2B or 2C for Nan Chiau. However, be prepared to go through balloting, including PV. Nan Chiau's standard tends to be higher comparing to other Sengkang schools. It is established by S'pore Hokkien Huay Kuan, same as Tao Nan, Ai Tong, Kong Hwa & Chong Fu.

It is the most popular school in Sengkang, follow by Rivervale Pri School. However, those who are staying in Rivervale, should try PV or balloting at Rivervale Pri School. It is within 1 km from the school.

Based on valuable Kiasu Parents website data, no balloting at phase 2B which includes PV.

No school will guarantee a place for PV. It only increases your chance of getting into the school. I am sure that you read about Zoe Tay's story on the newspaper. Balloting will still take place if there are too many PV.

                  Hi gloyt,

Your posting on 31 May 2012 on P3 subject standards appeared in River Valley Pri and Rivervale Pri. Are your kids studying in both River Valley Pri and Rivervale Pri.

Hope that you can clarify your post is for which school or both.

the principal didn’t anyhow accept PV application. I think he max at most 20-25? beyond that number application is closed. He has to consider phase 2B from the RCs. . As this sch is no.2 in Sengkang, more and more people are joining via Residents’ committee .

This school not bad, look at the website, they are transparent with the achievements under academic. PSLE results were announced with names and aggregates. Unlike other schools website, can’t even find their students PSLE achievements. Some sch website worst, not even other achievements were published. Even the no 1 school in sengkang, don’t even know who were the PSLE achievers.

Nan Chiau Pri, which is the no. 1 in Sengkang only put up it's list of top 10 achievers on the school's notice board. It has 100% PSLE passing rate & 2010 top achiever's T score is 275. There is no regulation from MOE that schools have to put up such info. It is up to the individual school principals. However, additional info can be obtain from the Kiasu parents website - Singapore Primary Schools Ranked by Academic Excellence & Schools in Sengkang.
