hi hi, maybe someone can help me.

I will be staying at Lotus. My kids are from 3 to 9 years old.

We are going to the fruit farm and very likely fireflies.
1)If time is limited, would u choose Ostrich or Crocodile farm? Why?
              2) We are likely to drive to all the places, is there decent security at the Firefly jetty? Do not wish to return from boat and find car gone :siam:
              3) Lastly, any difference in seafood between Renggit and Pengarang?

              thank you πŸ™‚

Will hv more things to see at os ostrict farm than croc but don't get ur hope too high on either.

There is a nearby restaurant at croc but so-so only, morelike home cooked meal.

                  1) On your way to Lotus, go to crocodile farm first as it is along the way. So you can save time. Then again, if you like to check in first, the trip to crocodile farm from Lotus is about 25mins.

Did you visit the ostrich farm there. The crocodile farm is quite big but nothing fantastic.

                  2) It is quite safe to park your car there. There will be many cars there as well.

                  3) There is nothing much at Pengarang. We travelled all the way exploring just to find a waste of petrol. Renggit is a town with the restaurant and shops selling keropok etc.

We drove up to Lotus last week for a 3D2N.

With the new bridge, Desaru is only 40min away from Woodland causeway.

Adults prefer Seafood at Renggit, kids love Ostrich farms and FruitFarm's mini Zoo. The fireflies were a letdown (wrong season for us?)
                      http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac124/penglee1/DSC_4098-1.jpg\">

Lotus' waterpark (with the lazy river) is very popular with kids.
Do try Rhu F&B restaurant in Lotus. Their Penang fare is not-bad.

The only thing with Desaru is seafood is 28Km away at Sungei Renggit. Pegarang (where the Ferry terminal is) is another 15min away. Lobster, prawns, LaLa!

                      http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac124/penglee1/DSC_3766-1.jpg\">

First time Drivers do take note, Desaru road is not illuminated at night.
So you need to high beam around bends.
                      Pot holes are not uncommon.

Overall, we rate 4/5 for our Desaru experience.

                        Hi Kitty,

If you are still looking for a driver + transport, I have someone to recommend.

The transport is a private 10 seat Starrex, Johor registered vehicle. The driver is located at Johor. You can ask him to pick you up from Singapore home to Desaru. The return trip is about S$300 (I think is pretty fair if you have a big family or group of friends to share :imcool: ). Of course if you'd like him to fetch you around Desaru, you'll have to discuss with him about the time and price again. :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:

You can contact him through his facebook Heng Chuinyil.

                        Have a nice trip~~
