Hi, just to share that if anyone is looking for a grand, definitely take a look at Sauter. It's absolutely lovely, the voicing and action are outstanding; the warmth and depth of tone made me swoon. 🙂 Worth checking out as a benchmark against other grands.

        U got your piano???

Hi yernying ! Nice to see you here. Yes I got a Kawai K8. 😄

Kawai K8 is a good paino. How much did you pay for yours?

By the way, did you compare K8 vs Yamaha U3 which is the same height?

hi sleepy, yes I compared. K8 sound is more mallow and softer. According to dd, the keys of K8 are heavier. At first she was not used to it, fingers get tired easily. But after sometime, she is fine.

According to this lady in Robert Piano, K8 is an upright baby grand. Not sure if Yamaha U3 is one ? K8 has some parts on the keys inside, made of fibre, new technology. You can see them in the showroon.

I bought at $13K. The most interesting part is, when dd was the testing the piano, this lady (she was ex-piano teacher, now retire) pointed to us dd's weakness and faults. I was looking for piano teacher that time and through her recommendation, I am very glad, I have found a wonderful teacher for dd. I guess, this is fate .... 😄

Anyway, I told dd, this piano shall stay with her forever. When she gets married in future, it shall follow her (家庄) 😄

Oh I didn't realize K8 is an upright grand. Kawai salesman always introducing K3 or K5, probably because my dd is just a beginner.

U3 is not an upright grand. It's a taller version of yamaha's most popular model U1.
Yamaha upright grand is YUS5, same height as U3 but much more expensive

That's a great idea! Piano can last for many decades, really a worthy investment 😄

                Hi Daisyt,

I may have met her. Is she the lady at Millenia Walk?

When I started my kids for piano lesson, the first thing I do is I bought a proper piano first, then I look for a piano class.

Most of my friends did is the other way, so when the kids refuse to practice they just give up. I felt that it is not easy to learn anything, I told my kids not to give up easily, till now they still continue and enjoy.

                    Hi Sleepy,

If you are considering K8, do note that there are 2 models. One is retailing at $12K+ and the other one at $14k+ (before discount). So, be sure to check with the store on their difference, which is the sostenuto pedal.
