it was a wet day yesterday but we went to westminster hoping to catch the queen. it was so crowded and we were unable to get close to the bridge. the police control was quite tight. once they saw a good crowd in one area, they would blocked others from entering. we in the restricted area had plenty of space to walk around . but we were squashed and pushed and shoved in the area where the big screen was. it was so bad that i nearly lost my handbag... and wth, some people were smoking

there was also random check of bags and those who couldnt get in were pissed......but the police and traffic control staff were firm
        .

we decided to move to embankment to check out the situation and it equally bad. london bridge too was crowded. we took a train and was able to catch sight of the river from above. it was awesome (train was moving slow and this particular train stopped at the centre of th brige and we were able to take pictures of the rowing boats and the crowd at the london eye.

but it was a wet and cold day.

Ah... Now I know what you are talking about ... It's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at the Thames River marking Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne.

        Must be spectacular ! 😄

It was a great show but we didn't go early to chope place....so can only see backsides....some have legs so long that the butts are eye level...luckily no one fart....otherwise sure die. :rotflmao: .
You are so funny, LOLMum! :rotflmao:

I'm sure you are having a whale of your time ! 😉

Hello LOL mum, I hope you are enjoying your visit to our shores. I wish you could have brought some lovely Singaporean weather with you…lol

We watched parts of the broadcast on TV and last night’s music show was spectacular. It brought a tear to my eye, as I recalled our history and I truly believe that I am priviliged to be British Citizen.

Living here in England, I find the Monarchy polarises people. I am a Republican - however, it dawned on me if we no longer had the Monarchy then it would lead to the hasty dissolution of the Commonwealth. For that reason I would keep them. Most tend to seee the Royal family as out of touch, biggotted and the ultimate welfare benefits recipients.

Honestly I think some of these hunks are Danes. I don't think they were speaking in English.

It rained in the pm, there was a good crowd but we only managed to catch sight of the smartly dressed soldiers( :? Think s soldiers) on the horses. Caught the planes flying past but I think due to rain, the show was over in less than two minutes.

After that we sent dd to her friend's house and dh, ds and I went to westfield to shop. First two days for shopping only. 😉 mainly clothes for kids.
