      Intermezzo:
      verykiasu2010:

Do you know that Charming Gardens, one km from NYPS, is actually Tanjong Pagar while Farrer is bukit timah and RGPS is more mean (Moulmein), or \"no face\" ?

anyway this is 2012 and the world is getting surreal !

      surreal is the word :rotflmao:

Think I mentioned before, my friend used to stay in serangoon (near to NEX). She was formerly in East Coast GRC. I'm very impressed how they can draw the boundaries. Very impressed.

I was invited by PAP for tea to run for the last GE.

However, after much consideration, I decided that it is not worth the risk and turned down their invitation. I thought.....standing under PAP's flag no longer guarantee a smooth helicopter into the parliament. What if they decided to put me in tough constituencies such as Hougang? Even GRCs nowaday don't guarantee a win without tough fight.

What if they place me in some tough jobs after the election that execute anti-singaporean policies such as opening floodgates for 10 of thousands of crappy standard foreign workers? and worse still, I maybe F**K by displeasured youngsters when i am invited for pre-U seminars?

time has changed and the tide has reversed..having a career with The LEE Inc is no longer a smooth and lucrative career choice.

That's why I say don't pray pray in this forum hor...

But hor, but hor, I find writing anonymously has its pros - not that you can run away from responsibility of what you say, certainly not, and one should not, whether anonymous or not (hey, it rhymes!) One good thing I realize is, that it helps me as a concerned citizen, to voice my point of view, without bias of who I am. Imagine if I were to write a letter to the minister - sure, first thing they might do is to track down who you are, what is your background, and perhaps, finally, discredit you because you are not 'qualified' to make 'noise'?

I find that a concerned leader would want to find out people's views, either through 'spies' or not, and to draw whatever good that comes off from the people indirectly. You don't' really need to open a forum formally, worse, put it a live telecast. People have their things to get busy over, and many of us are super low profile people, but it doesn't mean we don't think and we don't care. And what more, many of us don't do it for money. We are willing to give a part of us, our time, in our own way, to contribute to the better of the society that we live in, that's all.

Yes, it is certainly not a good time to join the less popular party. So the people who are willing to take that challenge has to be genuine in wanting to serve, not for a future of smooth ride. As long as the motive is a right one and you are genuine about it, things will turn your way. I respect those who put themselves up to campaign, and to serve. Whether they are good at it is another thing. I am glad, for one, that academic excellence alone no longer guarantees one of a place in parliament - although if you are highly qualified yet passionate, you will gain more respect!! šŸ˜‰
