      Dahlia:
hi im a newbie. My son is going to p1 next year. we live at lor chuan. we are pr's. we would like to send him to a coed school and was set on Yang Zheng until the new MOE ruling sets in recently.

i am old girl of Bukit Panjang Primary School but the distance is a major problem and uprooting the whole family is not feasible.

Should I get a spot for him in bpes in phase 2a2, commute for couple of months and canvass for a spot in YZ during that time?
Or should i risk and see if i can get him in via phase 2c for YZ?
Enrol in P2A2 1st and monitor Yang Zheng in P2C. Dun forget u r PR so chances are very slim

You need to think carefully. Not a joke to travel from Lor Chuan to BP. I have friends who gave up phase 2A n go for phase 2C cos of distance. Of course, you need to have a school for 2Csupp as backup.

Yes definitely need backup plan…but you can ask around and see if YZ is popular, the more popular it is, the more backup plans you need.

If you want a \"branded school\", your best and safest choice is your alma mater - BPPS. If you insist on Yangzheng at Phase 2C, your PR status may not even get you a chance to ballot. Try this only if you dun mind sending your kid to the not so popular schools at Phase 2C Supp (also subject to balloting). The govt will only step in to allocate if you are still unsuccessful after Phase 2C Supp (according to qms below).

If I were you, I would seriously think about moving the family to a more central location or nearer Bukit Panjang. Singapore is small so we wouldn't consider moving house very troublesome. It's not like moving to another state in a bigger country.

I will try to shift to Toa Payoh and go for Pei Chun.

Had seen many of my friends panicked during exam period when they were almost late cos they lived far from school, as well as on rainy days. There were even once that it rained on an exam day, but lucky it's not a National exam, thus school can delay the exam for half an hr.

Correction. It should be P2CS, before Ph 3 starts.
