My son is going to become a P4 student in Catholic High next term .

Is it like the other school that the classes are separated as good class and regular class? And which class is the best class?

"F" class is BEST… "E" is 2nd best… after that it is all average classes … so no worst class. Hope that helps. Hope they are not changing that next year.

Is this the same for P3. I will be transferring my boy to CH, next year. Anyone also transferring their boy next year?

Same for p3 & p4. \"A\" class is the \"worst\". But now they've changed all to \"Goodness\" & \"Kindness\" so no more \"A\", \"B\", \"C\".... This F class as the best has been the classification for the last 30 years!

But for P5 & P6, \"E\" & \"F\" are the fully HCL classes, while A to C are the non-HCL classes. D is a mixed class. G & H are GEP. You'll find that the best classes end up being \"F\" & \"C\" instead. And of course for GEP, \"H\" is the better class academically.

I heard from someone that he wants to transfer his kid to the school, but was told to "volunteer" to be their photo/videographer on overseas trip on own expense. The other parent was told to "volunteer" catering services for a few functions at own expense as well. Have you heard of similar thing when you transfer kid to CHS?

I was told that from last year’s P3 class, they had done away with having a best class followed by a 2nd best class. There are now supposedly only 2 top classes, Goodness and Kindness. This is suppose to diffuse the stong competition, selfishness and "kiasuism" prevalent in the "best" class.

I know there are a lot of CCA provided for P4 students in CH. But is there a Wei qi club there? My son is very interested in Weiqi.

By the way, is it very difficult to choose a CCA on sports as a newly- transfered student? It sounds like no more vacancy for new student.
