This year’s P1 registration will be diff. Parents are still worried about the new S’poreans first policy. Within 1km, nobody knows how many will be applying either.
This thing about neat and legible handwriting must cultivate from young…examiners do not give a hoot about ugly handwriting. They will just mark the child wrong. Something which I am driving into son’s head. -
Okto channel is showing PHPPS Indian dance now.

What is a PSG?So quiet. .. .

PSG is parent support group => formed so that we parents can support each other after we receive the exam results and find out that 1/2 the cohort failed the tough papers (joking on the 2nd part).

Jennifer gave me the GO number to call but the lady said she thinks not allowed. Anyway agree with the optician who said since my son only wearing specs in class currently, no need to spend extra money on transition lens.comfy:
SOS ...... I'm at Mee Mee Optics now. Are PH students allowed coloured lenses? You know like those transition types? For better eye protection.
I think it is ok as I know of an ex student in PH that wear that kind of spectacles.
Thankfully ds myopia didn't increase - in fact his astigmatism dropped a little. I think all these weekly outdoor activities we started once he started wearing specs are paying off now. So for those kids still blessed with good eyesight, don't forget the outdoor activities. Don't regret like me.
Dear Bro Mark,
I'm not as lucky as u... Brought my DD for eye review checkup last week and she was diagnoised with myopia of 100 degree (left) and 50 degree (right).... :slapshead: All this while, she was diagnosed with only astigmatism and her degree was well-controlled too during K2.
Her optometrist suspected it was due to her seating place in the classroom and BINGO.. DD told us that she was seated at the side corner and she has difficulty copying words from the board so she has to walk over to the front to see... No wonder developed myopia eventually... Was thinking if the present classroom seating arrangement in groups is appropriate... sob sob..
Maybe the traditional 2 x 2 seating is better so that they face front.
So we were told to present a recommendation letter by her Optometric Consultant to her FTs to put her in front or centre of the class and not the side or back. Me and DH really hope we wouldnt be getting any heart attack in her next eye review... such a high degree shoot-up in 3 mths time is not normal definitely... :scared: :nailbite: -
cheerie:
My son's myopia still 50-75 degrees, same as during mid-P1. But he had perfect eyesight during K2 which goes to show how fast kids' eyesight can deteriorate. If your dd's increasing by more than 100 degrees yearly, then perhaps it's time to get those Zeiss-type lens which is supposed to slow than the deterioration.

Of course as we found out (better late than never), regular outdoor activities helps a lot. -

Did you find out how your DS get myopia? I am kind of worried for my DS after understanding that the current seating arrangement can affect their eyesight.
