I think the punishment was also for their crimes on top of their "take rap" charges.

One man was speeding - $150 fine + 6 points.

Other man was for running Illegal Internet Gambling + hurting Police officer.

How was this similar offences ?
Do you think if u were taking a walk then bash up a Neighbourhood Police Post police officer, the TP will fine u and give u demerit points ?

        Strparent:
recently read about Woffles incident in the papers, thought the fine handed out was kinda light.

one set of rules for some, another for others ?
Dis disparity was stuck in my mind when I heard about it.
If u transposed his mole from chin to forehead n imagine w/o d specs,
doesn't he look like guanyin - untouchable :rotflmao:

In d words of DPM TCH, wat do u think?

Hmmm....food for thought. Wonder how the authorities will respond to this. Or has the penalty gone up for offences like that? One in 2005 and the other 2008. :scratchhead:

He was charged last year n sentenced dis year, d current penalties shd apply.
As d blogger rightly queried, why does it take six years for dis matter to come to light? I don't like wat I am seeing.

because he as plastic surgeon can make you look ugly or look good ..... you trust his knife or your law book ..... ?

(okay, just for laugh only, no insinuation intended)
n a world renown one at dat,
                also well connected.

                not joking
                lol.

                  bluesclue:

maybe in this case, the judge took into consideration that the highly skilled plastic surgeon could have easily alter the look of another person to look exactly like him , so no point sending him/ imposter to the cell 🙂
I thot u were leading to something but then u lost me in d end.
There was a case of a local judge who just fined a surgeon for his 'misdemeanor'
n justify in his sentencing dat d surgeon is 'too important to be jailed'.

Can't believe he said something about \"many people similarly would not think this is an offence\". HUh?? A highly qualified surgeon like him did not know making others take the rap is an offence?

Hope a heavier penalty will be meted out to him soon. That will send out the message that everyone is equal when it comes to the law.
Didn't he also said something to d effect (can't recall his exact words now)
                    - its a mistake n he will be more mindful of d law?

Come on, who is he trying to kid.
d two offences were committed more than a year apart.
It can only point to a deliberately thot out action intended to hookwink d police.

                        Something else comes to mind.

If u pay someone (in kind or services) to take d rap for u,
shouldn’t d case be referred to CPIB for investigation into possible corruption?
Why is dis case sitting with TP for six years, n not referred to CPIB?
