[Jurong West] Primary Schools
-
From the above post by Mamasmurf, can we summarise that the following schools in Jurong West area has the After-school care service? (At least by year 2013)?
1) Frontier Primary School ----Mamasmurf:
2) Jurong West Primary School -----Frontier Primary have 50 available places of which 20 are reserved for their current Primary 1 cohort. 15 places will be available for next year (2013) primary one student and 15 places for 2014 primary one students. If application surpasses the available allocated seats. Special needs students will be given the priority on a case by case basis following that balloting will be conducted for the remaining places available.
Mamasmurf:
3) Westwood Primary School ------Jurong West Primary before/after school care service will be available next year 2013. It will be located at the first floor of the extension building which is currently under construction. Available places are 80. There isn't much information available as they had not even called the tender for the private run service.
Mamasmurf:
4) Corporation Primary School ----Lastly, as Westwood Primary is a new school that is ready for it's first batch of Primary one students next year I believe it will also have the before/after school care service. Their soft launch will be held in Gek Poh Community Center on 19-Jun.

Are there any others around Jurong West area that I missed out? Perhaps parents can update here so others can know about it.

Does anyone know if West Grove is having open house and when that will be?

Hi all,
My son will be eligible for phase 2C in the area, and since i’m staying in Boon Lay Grove ( Construction in progress ). My 1st choice of school would be West Grove then Frontier / Jurong West.
so below are my qn:
1) Would it be a better choice to select Frontier PS to improve my chance.
2) Since Frontier first co hoc is 2012, can i assure more place will be available in phase 2C?
3) Any review for Frontier PS?
4) Or should i still go for West Grove in 2C ( 1-2KM) then opt for frontier in 2C(S) ?
Please kindly advise

1) Would it be a better choice to select Frontier PS to improve my chance. -- Have you check whether is your address less than 1km from Frontier Pri? As of 2012 intake, those more than 1km are advised to choose another school and there is a balloting even for those staying less than 1km.
2) Since Frontier first co hoc is 2012, can i assure more place will be available in phase 2C? ---You have to monitor the P1 Registration phases closely to know your chance.
3)Any review for Frontier PS? ---you may like to go to this thread:=

West Grove is another \"popular\" school in Jurong West area. Perhaps you may like to consider Westwood Primary School, which will be taking in their 1st batch of P1 students in year 2013.

Its a soft open launch today but you need to register to join the launch. They will tell you more about the school. Sort of like a open house…
