Hahaha I see! I always thought u r telling yourself to "beContented"!

I cant say I am happy with everything. But certainly I make do with the situation. I try to Improve things or stretch myself to cope. I don’t know - what else can I ask for, given that I am so average but I have
      - a happy, healthy and lovely child who thinks I am omnipotent and loves me unconditionally
      - a hubby who is doing well in his job and provides financial stability so that I can hold a less stressful job (but with lesser pay) and do more for the family and be an active part of my child’s growing up (it’s a privilege to be a child’s growing up in my opinion. Not everyone has this opportunity, not everyone values this opportunity).

I think this 'Swiss standard of living' actually means 'Swiss high cost of living'

Don’t mean to be rude, but so what if you hate Singapore? You still have to stay here right…

Anyway, don’t compare ourselves to other countries. In other countries you can get mobbed (robbed) in daylight because you are the miniority race. Even our public primary schools no matter how "lousy" is good. Your child don’t really mix with other children whose parents are drug addicts and stuff like that.

No matter how sandwiched we are, we are still safe even staying in public housing - HBD…

In short, I stand with those on the be contended lines. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Having a decent roof over one's head, reasonable quality of food for family, fair n equitable rule of law for all is no small stuff.

d first two parts used to be a struggle only for d bottom 10% - 20%, but in recent has started to affect d large middle-income group who can articulate their concerns, hence d greater visibility n expression of discontent.
