Kinderland

No particular comments on kinderland@SP. I previously send my son to kinderland, but after 1 year decided to change him to Montessori based Kindergarten instead as I find that Kinderland teaches very basic stuff compared to what Montessori teaches.
But the fee is much higher at Montessori based kindergarten. -
hi Phantom,
My boy is now studying at Montessori based preschool. How old is your kid? Has he started phonics?
Currently he is still in the playgroup and he learns a lot of vocab from the school which is good and it will help him to learn Phonics later on. -

I am particularly impressed with the way Chinese is taught, after just two month, my son can recite Tang poem, write his Chinese name. These which I have tried but failed previously to teach him.
The thing about this Tulip Montessori is that the class consist of kid from 3 to 6 years old having lesson together, that do teaches him some amount of social skills and taking care of each other and been independent.
The more important thing is he enjoys going to school now  -

Great to hear that your boy enjoys his classes. My boy enjoys too. -
Hi phantom,
Can u share with me, which kinderland did u put your boy in previously. sunshine place or the one bside lot 1?
You mean he was not happy there as compared to at tulip montessori?
I am now considering signing up my 3 yrs old girl for the tulip montessori phonics weekend classes next year. -

I send my kid to the one in Sun Shine Place. There was a change in one of the teacher and after that, my kid started to have resistance going to school. There could be a couple of reasons, one possible reason is maybe he came back from school break and some long weekend and still think of playing.Hi phantom,

But one of the main reason for changing is that my wife think Kinderland does not teach enough compared to Montessori, that's why we changed. So far so good at tulip montessori. -
Thanks for your reply!

Hi, I am a new mum at this forum. I sent my elder boy to Tulip Montessori for about 1.5 years (started when he was ~20 mths). He really enjoyed himself there, and became a lot more independent. We liked it because of the clean and new classroom, the variety of Montessori tools and toys, the high teacher-to-student ratio (when my son was there, it was 3 teachers to a class of 10-15 students), and the fee is not that ex compared to other Montessori programs. The only drawback is that we could not use CDA funds as it was an enrichment centre. We had to pull him out because we moved to a new location that is too far from Yew Tee/CCK. I would have put my younger one in there if we have not moved.

Welcome JG mum,
Thanks for the useful feedback, now then i know can’t use CDA account. i’ve yet to visit the centre although i live very near there, a pity i can’t sign my girl up for the daily classes, I’m a FTWM and the principal told me there’s no school bus service. -
i am also considering placing my 3YO girl to one of the schools below
1) mmi katong
2) kinderland marine parade
3) school house by the bay
4) seeds ‘d’ learning katong
5) learning vision tampines
any feedbacks on the above?
