Titank and Mummy of 2, thanks for your reply. I have called the school bus auntie who told me the bus comes at 6.45am, which seem not too bad.

Yes, they do have higher Chinese (http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_SearchDtls.asp?strCode=5005&snm=CHIJ%20%28KELLOCK%29). Not sure when it starts, but must be in P4.

Based on this info, I would agree with your husband. Firstly, longer distance means that the school bus will arrive earlier in the morning and drop your dd off later in the afternoon. I would rather a child gets extra sleep in the morning and gets to have lunch earlier every day.

Secondly, recent P1 registration history for CHIJ (Kellock) shows that most of the places get filled in Phase 2C. I don't think the risk is worth it.

Based on past years' record where there's no priority for S'porean, in phase 2C, there is a need for balloting for >2km in kellock while it's quite safe for geps for <1km. But nt sure how this will go wif the new rule by MOE on giving priority to Sporean.

Hi, but how’s the standard of the 2 schools? Seems like most prefer CHIJ compared to GEPS.

There are parents who have spoken highly of GESPS, too. Read through the earlier pages in this thread and you will be able to get a better idea of the school. Attend the open house to have a better feel.

If you are looking purely at the academic record, maybe GESPS is not on par with CHIJ Kellock. However, the difference is not that big.
