it was a wet day yesterday but we went to westminster hoping to catch the queen. it was so crowded and we were unable to get close to the bridge. the police control was quite tight. once they saw a good crowd in one area, they would blocked others from entering. we in the restricted area had plenty of space to walk around . but we were squashed and pushed and shoved in the area where the big screen was. it was so bad that i nearly lost my handbag... and wth, some people were smoking

there was also random check of bags and those who couldnt get in were pissed......but the police and traffic control staff were firm
                      .

we decided to move to embankment to check out the situation and it equally bad. london bridge too was crowded. we took a train and was able to catch sight of the river from above. it was awesome (train was moving slow and this particular train stopped at the centre of th brige and we were able to take pictures of the rowing boats and the crowd at the london eye.

but it was a wet and cold day.

people using these periscopes to catch a sight of the boats and queen.

hey, this is so interesting - using the periscope to catch sight of the queen ! πŸ˜„

oh boy, we love the natural history museum and science museum. the kids spent hours in just one floor at the science museum which is the launchpad area with lots of games and experiements for all.

we also did a free london tour which starts daily at 11 am and 1 pm. the 2.5 hour walking tour covers all the main sites incluidng buckingham palace, hyde park corner, trafalgar square, st james's park, big ben blah blah blah. the tour guide we had did a good job in explaining the stories behind the statues and buildings. it is free and we just basically gave a tip at the end of it.

we also did a jack the ripper walk. well, just dd and me. interesting but as it was still very bright at about 6+ pm, it wasnt spooky but we had a better understanding of the poor district...the alleys :yikes: .
