hah.. wish my school bus could come at 6.30am ..... my girl has been waking up at 5.30 am since P3, the bus comes at 5.57am. Shes used to it now though it took her a while to accept that unearthly timing.. Well, thank God this is her last year. :rahrah:

Wow! Your girl can get ready within 25mins. DD's bus will come at 6.20am and I gotta wake her up at 5.30am.

Well its quite a challenge at times but shes quite fast, stil half a sleep though, maid ties her hair while she chokes on her bread, goes to the toilet, brush teeth and washes her face. After changing she still hv time to pack her bag or she will take a nap on the sofa till bus comes, the maid will call her when bus is near and she will leave the house straight into the bus. I will prepare her bottle and biscuits in the nite She use to wake up at 5.00am but too early, notice she needs 15 to 20 mins to prepare, she can continue her bread in the bus but she needs to take her vitamins so really got to coat her stomach with bread first. Oh yes , the vtamins r really important to keep her going teh whole day cos she needs to stay back in sch for supp classes n thereafter to other courses.
Really pity the kids of today but I seriously think that their health is more important then anything.

        2013 P1 intake remain same as last year 2012 P1 :-

ie. remain at Total 9 classes (270 pupils).
luckily school didn't cut classes to 8 this batch.

Can anyone let me know if your girls attended prep classes before starting primary 1 in RGPS? Any recommendation for good tuition center in the Bt Timah/ Novena/ Newton areas?

I'm not one of those 'hardworking' moms who coached my daughter constantly hence starting to worry when she apparently didn't make it to a 'prestigious' tution center. Appreciate any advice/ guidance! Many thanks. πŸ˜‚

Apologies, reading some of the previous threads, I realize I need to introduce myself. I'm an old gal of RGPS and my DD will be attending P1 next year. πŸ˜„

Aside from their childcare, my 2 kiddos did not attend any prep class. No tuition except for Chinese. I don’t coach my kids all the time either. I do go through their work and if I find some areas where they seem to make a lot of mistakes I will simply go through those with them. Other than that nothing much, a little assessment here and there.

jade 18… I was a little worried about my dd b4 she entered P1, just like u Im nt a hardworking mum too, but I realize i cant teach her maths as teaching methods r different today, I saw her weakness in english as she had horrible writting and couldnt read as well as others in kindergarten so I signed her into one of the english classes near Utd Sq but not TLL cos I didnt believe in them at that time. I also signed her into tiensia prep classes for chinese during the Dec holidays and thats it! thats enuf to give her a good headstart I decided to leave it to the sch to gauge her and I will take it frm there henceforth.

                      Hi phtthp,

You are very active on kiasu parent, btw thanks for the pointers you have given me, after reading the articles posted by other parents and also calling SSTA, I have make up my mind to forgo putting my gal at RGPS in 2A2 and go for 2C at Horizon Pri which is just a stone throw away from my block at Punggol, 90 mins to 120 mins on the road daily is no joke. SC PV to RGPS will have one more place in 2B.
