I would like to get my boy into Hougang Primary School, which will be in the between 1KM to 2KM range. He is born in 2008 so registration will be in 2014, would anyone be able to advise on when to register as PV for the school and whether as PV he will have better chances of getting in?

You should check with the school now to see if PV application for your boy's year has already started. Quick! Quick! Don't http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php. You should http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php now.

Your boy has a very good chance if he qualifies under P2B. No balloting in P2B historically.

        Thanks qms!

Sigh I only just started reading up in the Pri 1 registration stuff after a colleague told me that I so slow haven't start looking. I didn't know it was so competitive & complicated. :?:

Worse is my hubby don't seem interested to help do some research. He was like that when previously looking for childcare... I was expecting my no. 2 yet had to call & go down visit the childcare centers.

So, you have found the right place! Parents here are very helpful. They are more than willing to share their experience and viewpoints with you. So, just :?: here whenever you need any information.

Maybe your hubby is the type who believes that all schools are the same?

                Hi all,

Does anyone know where can I get HIPS past years’s PSLE results? Their 2011’s result was not so impressive with only 60plus percent of cohort getting into express stream. Their website only shows the 2011 results.

Appreciate any feedback on HIPS too! Thanks!!

stay put at CHIJ Toa Payoh.

is a good primary, mission school, with affliation to Secondary.

I totally agree!!!the teachers are the best and the entire environment though stressful, is very encouraging! my eldest come back with a lot of homework every day but she will still willingly do it. the teacher even has a whatsapp group for parents in our class.

however, my worry came about when i think about the transportation. just called the school bus uncle to enquire and he mentioned that its a really long journey... my no 2 is not academically as strong as no 1 so i thought shifting to a sch nearby will be a better choice...

to add on to my misery and dillema, i have called chij oln... seems like my no 2 won't be able to enrol there until someone withdraws. :gloomy: the silver lining is that the helpful school clerk mentioned that given my new address, i will safely walk in under phase 2c n recommended that i should register my no 2 in and then my girl may be given priority to start pri 2 there....

                        :imdrowning:sighz sighz sighz!
