There will always be some extreme cases. We just need to keep our heads firmly on our shoulders and do what is best for our own kids base on our own circumstances or ideals. No need to keep following the herd.

When you are in the education line, you will hear all sorts of requests or queries. I’ve had parents asking me why at 3yrs old the kids are not taught formal addition and subtraction. At 4yrs old they ask us when are we going to start teaching the kids how to multiply and creative writing. Oh and one that I will always remember, when will we be teaching the kids BODMAS ( / x + - ). Took me a while to figure out what the parent was asking.

        ksi:

Tuition is a must-have to solve a known problem. Enrichment solves future problems which may or may not exist but people still want to do it.

tuition is a must have to pull up grades.
enrichment is for those who have spare cash and kiasu. 😓

My daughter’s PD told me that talking to the child is the best teaching…whether you are changing her diapers, washing the bowls and when feeding. SAHMs have the luxury of teaching their kids right from birth.

Many moons ago, when I first heard of 18 month old kids having enrichment, I was stunned. When I read post about parent of 1 year old asking for enrichment, I am speechless and a dinosaur (outdated parent).

If tuition is a must have, wouldn't it be better if it is administered by the schools?

The school can engage professionals to coach the \"identified\" kids..

                :goodpost:
but then wont schs indirectly admit that their teachers are not 'professionals'? :? 😓

Learn time and intervals. 3hrs interval, cry to be fed only every 3hrly.

                    😉

i think dreamaurora's boy already received regular informal music education via regular 'concert' from the dad while still in the mother's womb ... 😉
                      good headstart already! 😄 :siam:

Why often many think the sooner the child does / learns a stuff the better he/she will be at it later in life?

Is there a corelation? From my experiene I would say no. But anyone here with staticstics to prove /disprove the above.

Starting from giving babies soilds, to teaching then to walk, to potty training... the rat race begins :slapshead:
